So, in summary, now that the Australian dollar has fallen, eating into their orders, they are trying to win back business? It's a good deal from a fair weather business friend.

    • +3

Even with a weaker AU Dollar, the flat shipping rate would save you an average of $10 for a moderate size order compared to previous postage rates.

Also, it's worth mentioning that prices of supps and vitamins in Aussie are ridiculously expensive. Yesterday my friend spent $400 on supps at a local shop that I usually pay no more than $150 inc shipping when ordering from the USA.

      • +1

Indeed and also the dosages on the US products are usually higher as well, better value. Havent bought from iherb in a while though due to the $$ taking a nose dive :/. will have to reconsider now :)

  • +2

vitacost.com also in USA is a lot cheaper on most sups and vitamins and has a $10 sign up bonus with referrals etc. but with $10 US postage.

  • Excellent, stocked up on Celestial Teas…

  • +6

Where has this site been all my life. I spend a fortune on vitamins. The prices here are great. Thank you.

  • -2

This is only flat rate up to $120. For orders over $120 the price of shipping has gone up. DHL was 50% off, so for big orders shipping is more expensive. OP should make this clear in the post.

    • +1

      Make a few orders..

    • This is only flat rate up to $120

As djones pointed out, there is always an ozbargain work around things like this.

  • +1

Time to stock up on Quest Protein bars :O

    • are these good value?

    • -1

The AUD getting smashed makes their prices pretty avg. About $33 for a box - you kind of missed the massive sale on the quest site…

      • +1

what sort of prices were we talking back then?

      • Your paying 20% more with the current AUD exchange rate which is ~ $6 more for an order of $30.

However i believe that the new postage rate of $4 rounds it off nicely (if you consider old postage rate of $8 for DHL) so you are effectively paying $2 more

  • +1

Have they just gotten rid of the flat rate $8 express DHL for 8 pounds though?

    • Havent seen it for a while.:(

  • +1

    Do these guys use paypal?

    • +2

I was only given the option of using a credit card

      • Thanks. Pity. I do not like using my credit card. I guess they would have to increase their prices if they added the paypal facility due to all the costs associated with it.

  • Cheaper Animal Pak FTW!

  • +2

None of the protein powder I tried can be sent to Australia. Pitty. Would've been a good deal otherwise.

    • I missed Jarrow Formulas from iherb. Unflavored used to be $22 for 908g (and when AUD was good). Still a bit left that will expire soon. Need to find a new source :(

    • -1

Quarantine wont allow any protein in

  • USD in the title would be nice.

  • +1

Does DHL stop sending an invoice for quarantine processing fee (about $47) if you package gets lucky and needs to be inspected? Had to pay 2 or 3 years ago for $40 order lol

Still see that quarantine fee thing on iherb checkout page. Not sure if I wanna take a risk with DHL again.

    • I've had a couple of my iHerb orders inspected by Customs over the last few years. They were been sent via DHL, but I've never been charged extra by them!

  • Mate I can't get it up anymore, anything you guys recommend

    • +1

      viagra

(yes, i logged in just to post this)

    • No, you need "herbal" Viagra :) I always seem to be getting emails for this.

Actually, I think a lot of aphrodisiacs, like yohmbine, are illegal in our nanny state.

  • I wonder why such high dosages of vitamins are available and approved overseas but they are not approved in Australia. EG vitamin D3 available in 1,000, 2,000, 5,000 and 10,000 IU but here only 1,000 IU is the recommended dose.

    • Who knows - just because they aren't approved doesn't mean they couldn't be.

The vitamin and supplements area is generally full of garbage claims and tenuous bemefits though, maybe it's just completely pointless taking such high doses or something like this.

I order a multivitamin that I cannot buy here apparently just because it's in liquid form.

    • +2

Just because a high-dose tablet is available does not mean you have to take it daily.
We use the iHerb/Now Foods vitamin D3, 5,000 IU, and take two per week , which is equivalent to about 1,400 IU per day which gives us a good mid-range vitamin D result on blood test.
You may not be able to do this with all supplements - we only use D3 - but D3 is absorbed into fat in the body and the levels fluctuate slowly and average out over time.

Quite a lot of detailed private research on D3 has been published by a smart, objective I.T. guy here
      https://www.grc.com/health/vitamin-d.htm
… worth reading if you are interested.

      • Thank you. I will have a read.

    • +3

You'll find that a lot of the Australian supplement companies use inferior or cheaper compounds and generally have poorer formulers at twice the price.
In addition RDI isn't the best guide
      Yes Swisse is chit

      • +1

Oh. I use some Swisse products. Which brands would be better?

        • +1

          What do you buy?
some reputable brands are jarrows, thorne research.
The most common compound in multi vitamins is B12, good companies will use Methylcobalamin whilst the cheaper form Cyanocobalamin is more commonly used in Aust.

          http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methylcobalamin

        • I use their krill oil, joints formula, organic spirulina and Q10.

  • Wasn't happy dropping money on this company on the premise any products not received would be refunded.

    • +3

iHerb is a reliable supplier and a cut above a lot of Yank companies.
iHerb do have a clue about international customers and shipping to Australia at very reasonable rates; most US suppliers are clueless.

    • +1

They are bluffing about refunds. You have every right to claim a charge back via your bank if something does not arrive. You'll get a refund from your bank after an investigation.

  • I agree with other posters. Supplements and other non-prescription medicianal products from America are a lot cheaper and generally better than the Australian equivalent, and a lot of products aren't available in this country.

I purchase enteric coated fish oil, Minxodil/Rogaine foam, melatonin (not the fake Australian OTC variety) and GMC multivitamins from the US, usually from Amazon, and have all bar the Minoxodil sent to my shipping forwarder.

I am a member of I herb since 3 yrs ago. I love this stuff from Iherb.

Tate's, The Natural Miracle Sunscreen, SPF 30 - It is not irritated to my sensitive skin

Thayers, Rose Petal Witch Hazel, with Aloe Vera Formula, Alcohol-Free Toner - It is not irritated to my sensitive skin aswell.

Out of Africa, 100% Pure and Unrefined Shea Butter - After putting/massaging this to my itchy skin, the itch was fading after a minute until its gone. I love this product the most

Childlife, Essentials, Liquid Calcium with Magnesium, Natural Orange Flavor - my kids love this

Artisana, Organic Raw Coconut Oil - this is much better moisturiser for my kids who have very dry skin than dermeze & QV

Mountain Ocean, Skin Trip, Coconut Soap - currently using it for my kids better than a product in the store which have chemicals

  • I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE iHerb! Been a customer of theirs for years, and order from them every month.

In all my orders with them, I've only ever had a problem once - when one of the products I had ordered didn't arrive with the rest of the order. After I emailed them about it, I was promptly refunded for the missing product.

Its not just the supplement prices which are great either, but the grocery items as well. As an example, this coconut oil is only US$19.95 (about AU$25): http://www.iherb.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Organic-Extra-Virgin-Co…. My local health food store sells the exact same thing for $42!!!

I save a small fortune getting my health foods and supps from iHerb…

  • I wish they would accept payment via PayPal.

  • You can get 2x bottles of Orange Triad for $95 with free delivery on eBay.

  • Does anyone know if there is an extra fee added to to the invoice if an AMEX card is used.

    • no fee from iHerb

But AMEX charge a commission fee for the exchange rate on the CC statement

But i think you can choose to pay with AU dollar on the iHerb website

      Cheers

OK, placed my first IHerb order. What amazing service. Got an email stating that the order has been shipped within 12 hours of the order. Now just have to wait for it to arrive.

    • Order arrived today. I am impressed.

  • Just received my 2nd order. These guys are fantastic. Only took one week to arrive. The vitamins available are so good.

  • Did the shipping price just change in the past hour? I saw 'Flat $4 shipping' before, now its

    Australia Post — AU$9.09
    Estimated Delivery Date: March 17, 2015 - March 20, 2015
    Direct shipping through Australian Post
Takes 5-8 days for delivery, with tracking number
Up to 10 lbs. (4.53 kg.) and AU$157.15 in value.
Flat AU$5.24 for orders over AU$52.38!

Im also confused with my order and the layout.
    http://i.imgur.com/vRI6pvD.png

    Isn't it supposed to be $11.77 + (($23.56x2)-$4.71 [quantity discount]) - $10 [discount] - $2.94 [5% of total $58.89] = $41.24

plus $4 shipping = $45.24 ? Instead of the quoted $51.59. This was the quoted priced too at the review page after payment info.

    • Flat $4.00 for orders over $40.00!

  • Has anybody received their orders from iHerb and went with the $4 auspost shipping? If so, have you received your parcel yet and did the tracking number work?

My tracking number doesn't seem to work…Parcel was "shipped" on 20th, and I'm still getting "Invalid tracking number"…

    Mine starts with BZ.
