Usually when autobahn have the fuel injector cleaner on, they are out of stock.. Wasted my time driving around last time..

I found out from autolineTV that if you want to clean your engine, just put in V power fuel (or other high end 98 octane fuel like vortex, bp ultimate) once in a while, it costs the same and maybe cleans even better. I do it twice a year before going on a road trip where i can rev to 6000 rpm to maximize the effects.

    • i didn't know about that. thanks for the info..i'll give it a try this month

      • You are in luck because petrol is sooo cheap these days haha

"Will higher octane gasoline clean your engine better?

No, as a rule, high octane gasoline doesn’t outperform regular octane in preventing engine deposits from forming, in removing them, or in cleaning your car's engine. In fact, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requires that all octane grades of all brands of gasoline contain engine cleaning detergent additives to protect against the build-up of harmful levels of engine deposits during the expected life of your car."

Shell V Power is more than just a high octane fuel:

Shell V-Power contains powerful cleaning technology designed to prevent the build up of power robbing deposits from forming on intake valves and fuel injectors.

That's in the US where fuel is quite different. I agree with Sween64. While I can't say for sure how effective it is in comparison to fuel injector cleaner, there are definitely cleaning products in V power.

        • I remember a few years back filing up at shell and there was a big poster about their top line fuel talking about cleaning, fuel economy etc and it had an asterisk. Small print at the bottom said that that fuel wasn't available in Australia - thought about how crooked tat was. Maybe the fuel is different now.

      • I guess there are no right or wrong really.. Maybe do both for maximum result? Lol
