too bad analogue not digital radio

  • I would have got it if it was more portable.

Any other good ones at this price?

      Hmm…

Awesome design, mediocre functionality and crap quality. Stay away from it.

I wish I had said this in the video itself, but video is uploaded already.

  • I have the dual alarm model

Great upgrade from my 10 year old one

    Highly recommended

  • No DAB no deal

  • got one of these because my Phillip clock has bright white lights and makes it hard to sleep at night (next to my bed)… this one is much better in that sense… however… the Sony one is poorly shielded… it detects every bit of signal sent from the mobile towers to my phone.

The Sony online store has it for $23.20 delivered until 5 Jan, for those without a GGs nearby.

  • I have one of these. Good units. Adjustable light brightness. Radio performs well. Looks good. Might get you a compliment if someone sleeps over.

"Wow that's the cutest clock I've ever seen".

  • +2

Analog tuner is rubbish as you can't have presets.

  • Can this run completely on batteries? I have an old Sony Dream Machine which uses 2x AA batteries that last for a year. No need for any mains power.

Bought one of these. Looked good in the store. Take it home and put it beside my bed. Constant hiss/static from the speaker. Returned and got an Aldi clock for half the price.

    Haha

The unit is normally priced at $ 19.99 CAD but luckily it bought it on sale for $ 9.99 CAD

We have only had this clock for a few months. We never used the radio or alarm or any of the features. It strictly sat beside the bed to tell time. Tonight, three times, it came on by itself with a horrible loud static sound for a few seconds each time and then shut down again. Scared the crap out of me. I've unplugged it and dumped it.

Price match it at Officeworks and bring it down to $18.05?

  • I have this. The buzzer is really quiet and you cannot adjust it. However I only use the radio so it's ok. A so so product. Avoid if you use buzzer.

    • is this alarm clock that can set alarm on weekday only? Thanks.

      • No you cannot do this you have to remeber to turn it off manually each Friday night and on Sunday night.

        • Thanks for your info.

  • I'm sure this is 19.95 or even 19$ at Coles at the smoke counter
I brought one a month ago

    • I've seen it at $10 at Coles Mildura early December. Not sure whether it was a local special only but probably worth keeping an out for the next time it is reduced.

  • I have an older model, this is a fairly standard price.

    Neutral vote from me.

  • i've been a long time user of sony dream machines and for a basic RADIO alarm clock, it's pretty decent. The beeping function is near useless. Doesn't have 24 hr time format while my older DM does.

After reading the comments here and watching the YouTube review, this looks like a dog of a product.

    • It's basic as basic can get. Only plus is the nice dimable display. Another big negative is adjusting the radio tuning. It's rather sensitive.

    • +1

for $19 i'd say it's about right. not sure what you guys were expecting. it's more about aesthetics than functionality in this instance.

      • +5

This is not up to OzBargain standard. $19 should get you a reasonable quality clock radio which normally sells for $50-70 not this thing.

Your intro reminds me of the dude that used to describe the prizes on the price is right.

  • Woolworths has a digital alarm clock radio green LED is extra large display, can read/see it from other side of house bought it a year ago for about $20.00. I think they still have them. easy on my eyes. highly recommend it. what I've read on this site about the Sony ICF-C1 FM/AM Clock Radio. I would stay away from it.

    • Is it portable? Can you run it off just batteries?

  • I believe that most modern phones made in the last twenty years have an alarm function and can even be plugged into the wall with a charger.

This seems a better deal if you are in Sydney

  • Thanks. I needed a back up for my phone when I forget to charge it

  • Expired! But RRP is $29 so should expect a lot less…

This clock is a piece of junk guys, don't buy it. The quality is okay until it breaks down on you a few weeks later. Don't bother.
