Good price for local stock. Do we think its the same as this one?

Imo its worth the extra $$ to be able to return it if it turns out to be junk.

  • Thx op for the deal :) Any chance you could post the barcode on the box? So i can check which stores have stock

Sorry I didn't buy it. Not a fan of drilling into my car, prefer the wireless option. You should be able to pull a barcode from the second photo in this ebay listing http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DGTEC-Car-Reverse-Camera-/1115611…

      • Hey no Npz.Yeh thats true gotta reroute all the wiring through the roof and stuff. Yup I got the barcode now its 9341102649614 for anyone that needs it also :)

Not sure if this one has the same issue.
It adds noticeable vibrations to the rear view mirror, guess its because of how the mirror is constructed.
I found it quite annoying, so I removed it. It was installed in a Mazda 2 Sedan.

I have tried a few ones which add bluetooth or maps or rear view which has this issue.

My dad has a similar rear view mirror screen from DX and it suffers the same issue, I think it's because it's not very securely attached and thus magnifies the vibration of the rear view mirror.

      • I agree.
I doubt these use a different mounting mechanism. It is probably just using the spring clamping system for mounting, which doesn't seem to hold it tight enough to avoid any of the vibrations.

I have tried a similar rear view mirror attached screen. IMO, don't waste your money on it due to the glare during daytime. I now have one with a dedicated screen and it has a much better image because it isn't reflective like the one in this deal. Due to the reflective surface, it reduces the usability of the reversing screen.

This is the one I bought from eBay: item 350576919411
It is a thinner design than the first one I got which had the screen as part of the reflective surface. It vibrates a lot less as a result.

You will still need to get a separate reverse camera and I would recommend getting one that replaces the number plate light to avoid drilling.

I agree with Amts about the glare problem on the mirror covered lcd displays. Mine only works in under covered areas. A friend who paid Ford $500 or so for one has similar problems. Also the guide lines in mine are difficult to use.
$88 is a bit steep for the alternative but I will keep my eye out for one and then bin what I have.
Digtec usually import low end gear.

    • There are 3 buttons behind the mirror to adjust the brightness, contrast and colour saturation. Factory settings are at 50% for all 3. I've turned mine up to 100% for all settings and it looks OK.

  • Drilling? No thanks.

  • Bought one this morning and mounted it. Ran the wiring above the roof lining and down the pillar into the boot and out a gromit. I didnt drill the hole for the camera. Instead I siliconed it next to the number plate lights. Its ok cept not so good in a dark carpark. The mirror vibrates but I siliconed that to the cars mirror and it seems to have fixed that issue.

This is on my towing poobox car so for $29 cant really complain.
