  • No comments? I thought this was a great bargain but the lack of comments has me worried.

Is there any knowledgeable people out there that can comment on this?

    Thanks.

      I bought one.

Coming from a Nexus background, I'm getting used to the Samsung UI. But so far, the tablet has been responsive and enjoyable to use.

The 189ppi resolution means that I notice some loss in sharpness when switching from my 5" phone to this tablet. But browsing and video playback is sweet.

For around $200 for a 8" tablet, the competition seems to be the Acer Iconia, the Dell Venue 8, the HP G2, and Hisense Sero 8. I am happy with my choice compared to these units on specs, and the price is really competitive too.

      • Samsung is a much more highly sought after brand name than the "competition" you mention so it sounds like a no-brainer really. I'm in the market for a tablet but might wait for something around the $100 mark because I seldom use it very often(still prefer a laptop).

HN has the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (7 inch) for $129, that might reduce to $119 after using the sign-up code (??). The other unit in that price-range might be the 7-inch Asus Mempoad, that's under $100 at DSE.
