I really dont need a 4th set of cans but these are really nice sounding headphones… dayum…
I bought this pair for the gf for about 230 last year since she wanted a good looking on ear set and I wouldn't let her get anything I didn't think sounded good. If you don't mind on ears, this is the COMFIEST, best looking, and best sounding you should find for this price.

  • Very cheap. Got them for $130 delivered a few months back.

These are tuned to have very high treble/highs and after one days I couldn't stand them. Very different to anything else I've worn. Best you go try them on before buying.

    • come cans needs burning time

        • The article argues small in-ear or smaller drivers have no chance of burn-in effecting its sound but quotes a manger from Shure saying larger headphones might experience change. Its title is "Please Stop ‘Burning In’ Your EARphones" And their main argument is Shure testing E1 'EAR'phones.

From my understanding, bigger drivers produce better sound. The Sennheiser on-ear uses a 40mm driver (?) which is the same size as the much more expensive Sennheiser HD 700. (i.e. fairly large). The article is referring to the myth of burning in earphones, not almost-full sized headphones like the Sennheiser Momentum on-ear.

Hmmm, I stand corrected. I thought burn in had no audiable effects, perhaps not. Though to what extent that the change is and whether the positive effect is significant is still arguable.

Also, I never aruged that earphones sound better than headphones, I just found an article about burn in, thought they were relevant without realisng that it was talking about BA earphones. Even if it did change, it's BA, not relavant to headphones. Oh silly me.

40mm drivers are fairly commonly used. KOSS KSC-75 uses 40mm driver and that thing is 20 bucks. Just saying.

Ugh, Guttenburg. A traditional 'subjectivist' who's reviews and ideology I despise. Tyl panders to both camps as well as he can:

          Merry Christmas.

  • Just seen these on an email from " Catch of the day " also for those that may find them sold out. Sorry; cannot post link on my mobile phone … no windows etc. But it us a .com.au site if that helps at all, but + p&h. Said "brought to you from Dick Smith"?

  • Is it just me or are they ugly as hell

Bit much to expect people that scavenge through bargain bins to have some style.

Bit much for you to comprehend that people have their own tastes.

@danred: It's day of Christmas :) Couldn't we just say merry christmas to each other?

          @AznMitch:
          For you yes.
          Merry christmas, guy!

        • @danred: Merry Christmas :)

  • Dick Smith has this for $99 with delivery fee of $5.95 (Sydney area). Does anyone know if it will be delivered via the standard Australia Post service or do they use a courier company that will not drop off at the local post office?

    • They use StarTrack. Australia Post own them so I don't see why they wouldn't be able to drop it off. Hell, the StarTrack packaging has the Australia Post logo on it.

I've never missed a delivery with them though, so I can't be certain.

    • As mentioned they use StarTrack, but they didn't drop off my parcel at the local post office. They dropped it off at a business hub which was about half an hours drive away. Re-delivery was gong to take two business days.

Buy a JB hifi gift card, get a 20% off voucher. Use voucher and gift card to buy. Win win.

    • How to get 20% off?

      • Probably too late now but JB were running a promo, buy a gift card and you also receive a voucher for 20% any purchase up to $100 ticket price

    • I am still waiting for 2 JB HIFI $50 gift cards via my Flybuys card. One JB HIFI $50 gift card via my Qantas frequent flyer card arrived over a week ago. These were all organized at the same time and should have arrived by now. Hope the wayward two arrive soon to take advantage of sales at JB. Would have been nice to get a further 20% off … maybe I should buy one also … Son looking to puchase software over $200 at the moment, so a 20% discount would come in handy. Thank you.

  • Probably a stupid question but apart from the design is the sound exactly the same on the "on ear" and "over ear" versions?

  • Bought them today using some Christmas gift cards. Thanks OP:)

  • Went to Office Works and their price was around $175. I was able to get them for $94 after they beat the Dick Smith catalogue offer with the best price guarantee. So if you are near an Office Works then you can save a few more dollars!
