If anyone has any questions about the product I'll be happy to answer them :)

  • Could I like watch a movie with this and my HTC one m8? :) also what is this made of? cardboard?

    • +2

Yes, you can even watch 3D movies. There are several movie player apps for you to pick from, including some virtual cinemas - these work with movies you have downloaded onto your phone. You can also go straight onto YouTube and search 'SBS movies, - these are 'side-by-side' presented 3D movies you can watch with the VRSmartView. Somebody uploaded the Finding Nemo movie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3UKbAyOZc8

Also, the body is made of high grade polypropylene plastic.

        • Thanks so much Miss Panda, we hope you will love it!

    • The site indicates it's plastic. :)

Quite happy with the one I picked up at PAX this year. Just out of curiosity, is it possible to stream whatever I'm doing on my PC onto this? I wouldn't have thought so, but it's nice to dream :P

    • +1

Yes! Although the software that does the streaming is at an early stage - there is some tweaking required and latency can sometimes be higher than ideal. We have an instructional video on streaming games up on our forum and we will soon be releasing some software that will improve things greatly. http://www.phenomec.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=3

  • Hey

Great looking product! I wish i saw this when I bought another one off ebay a few weeks ago! Are you going to have support for the iPhone 6+? Got interested with the streaming tutorial you made on your forums but then it was for android only.

    keep up the good work!

    • Thanks mahdloc! Our hardest task is getting our brand out there so people are aware we exist.
The Iphone 6+ fits and gives a great VR experience.
In regards to the streaming, we definitely will be supporting apple users on our next update.

      Thanks for the encouragement :)

    • Appreciate the research you did there Thrift ;)
We were selling units for $49.99 online and at PAX on Oct 31st and for about two weeks afterwards, however this was an early backers promotion sale price.
Kind of like how Kick-starter promotes discounts to early backers for new products.
I totally understand where you are coming from though as it is not clear that was the case in those media articles.

  • Hi, may I know which courier you ship this item? Is it AusPost ? I want to use parcel locker as delivery address.

    • Hi yes we use AusPost, thanks!
