The $1 tier has the best value in my opinion. Locked the average in at $3.36 in case the average gets better games next week.

    • Yep it looks like other people share your opinion as the average looks to be dropping. I locked in at $3.34 just for Empire: Total War - is it any good? and also for the potential of better games :)

How do you lock in the average?

  • +3

Sonic All Stars Transformed is amazing. The best option for PC split screen fun.

  • TBD? Is that new?

    • +2

Just in case you were seriously asking, it means "To Be Determined".

      • i was under the impression it meant "To Be Decided". Now I don't know what to believe.

        • Believe in nothing, nothing is true. RRP doesn't stand for anything, even though it is meant to be the "recommended retail price". Everything is a lie! Ca… Nah, that's just so 2007.

        • +1

I thought RRP was Recommended Ripoff Price

        • @AznMitch: The recommended retail price is an invention to create an effect known as anchoring which changes your perception of value completely subconsciously and inescapably (before you start thinking nope it doesn't happen to me because I'm special - a big mistake but a very common one.

Just in case you we're wondering what it does actually stand for: it's a tool to increase the chance that you will be a conversion.

You can reduce it's effects however by having better reference points for what constitutes value. (But before you welcome that as good news also be aware that for most transactions people do not have a good reference point you really need to be much more knowledgeable and you have no way of knowing whether you are still being influenced by the anchoring effect of numbers.)

  • Are you sure COH2 is a standalone expo? The full COH2 game together with the expo showed us in my library and as 'owned' when browsing the rest of COH2 expos once I bought the bundle.

Paid the average and got Company of Heroes 2…. Good deal!

  • So, I'm new to Humble Bundle, so just to confirm you choose a $ amount you wish to pay for the collection. If you pay more than the average displayed you get an additional title, and even higher and you can qualify for other things.

    Is that right?

So, is there any benefit paying $4 as opposed to the current average? I assume the process is there to try to gradually increase the average.

    • +1

Simply pay $0.01 more to beat the average and get the extra games. Even if the average moves, you still get any extras that may be released at a later date.

Paying any more is a nice gesture - support the devs/charity/Humble org.

    • +1

Only benefit in paying more than average is more money to developers/charity/humble bundle (you can specify how the amount is divided)

I would just lock in the $1 tier then if the BTA games are worth it just pay the extra - you get locked into the BTA rate at the time of purchase.

  • What's with the 2 DLC's in the $1 tier, I don't have either of those games and they're not even in the higher tiers??!

    • You get a free DLC, you then buy the main game. Considering the Steam Winter sale will be here very soon, those two main games will be at a pretty good price soon.

  • Another important question - how do you all control these sorts of games on PC? Just the 'humble' keyboard?!

I'm a console gamer, so only games I've got on the PC are Elder Scrolls: Skyrim and Rocksmith 2014.

Not sure how much fun it will be gaming with fishing, or sonic on a keyboard. Wonder if my old Xbox wifi controller would work on the PC… must try that!

    • When I went into the configuration setting for Crazy Taxi, it actually had setting for xbox 360 controller and keyboard. Not too sure about other games though, I'd assume that they will be like that.

    • If you don't want to use your keyboard, which is very understandable for racing games. You can use an Xbox 360 controller as you mentioned - Google instructions :)

    • Depends on the game. Some games controller is going to be preferable, i.e. racing, fighting, 3rd person . For others keyboard/mouse will be far better, i.e. strategy, first person.

I would suggest for most major games it'll support both. Check the steam page for a game and you'll get a decent picture of it's controller support. At a minimum almost all PC games will support keyboard/mouse

    • Some games are much better with mouse and keyboard, while other are better with a controller. Generally, if it is a PC exclusive, it is better with keyboard and mouse.

NiGHTS Into Dreams - XBOX 360/PS4 pad
      Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed - XBOX 360/PS4 pad

      Empire: Total War - Keyboard&Mouse
Company of Heroes 2 - The Western Front Armies: Oberkommando West - Keyboard&Mouse
Total War: Shogun 2 - Fall of the Samurai - Keyboard&Mouse

    • Yep, I use the keyboard for Sonic Racing.

  • +1

probably the best $1 tier I've ever seen on a bundle… still got BTA just in case.

  • so this company of heros 2 is it just a DLC or the real game?

    • -1

      read the description

Company of Heroes 2 - The Western Front Armies: Oberkommando West Standalone expansion

    • +2

omg!! I got CoH2 as well as the DLC when I redeemed it no joke!!!!

      • +1

Yeah I had the same occur.
I got an error saying it already existed in my library (it didn't) and into Steam I go and full game was available.

  • While the base $1 tier was all I really wanted, the charities on this one are very deserving so I don't mind buying the top tier on this one.

  • +2

BTA has been updated, Sonic Generations & Viking: Battle for Asgard now included.

    • I got that email alert too. I'll google them for reviews over lunch today, but what's the word on the street about these two titles?

  • Dreamcast collection doesn't seem to add to my steam account. It says redeemed to my account, but does not appear in my library.

    • It adds the four individual games that the dreamcast contains to your library. Did anyone else notice the new CAPTCHA which doesn't require you to type in a ridiculous string of words?
