They also have a 65inch UHD for $1599 … that would be a nice price for the size and UHD … the question is just the quality (which is unfortunately the most important thing … ) But nice to see the prices for UHD going further down.
$549 for 55 inch is amazing price. Quality … no idea. I personally would rather buy a brand and know what TV I get … but for that price …
Deal expires tomorrow, not the 2nd Dec.
$40ish for shipping
I bought.
Hope it is alright.
Postage showing as $93.10 for me to QLD :(

Fantastic price but don't rely on their delivery dates. I'd be surprised if you got it before Christmas. If it's meant as a present, I wouldn't take the risk.
Also together with this is their 40" LED tv for $349
Aldi have a 40" LED TV available right now for $333, you get two months to return it if you don't like it and you don't have to wait months for shipping.

Dick Smith have a 54.5" which sometimes they sell in the low to mid $500 range which I got a few weeks ago. It's pretty good (my home TV is a Panasonic VT50). Very good for the price. If you're considering this Kogan one, the Dick Smith one is definitely worth considering too.
Any thoughts on quality of kogan quality TVs?
I paid $699 + $57.90 delivery for a Kogan 55" 3D TV (KALED553DXZA_A) in Jan 2013. Very happy with the picture quality. Though you'll need an amp, as the speaker is terrible. Used the 3D function on mine about twice - don't need it.
For a long time I tried to work out the discrete codes to switch HDMI channels for a universal remote (instead of the remote having to circle through all the input modes every time I switched activities on the remote), but ended up giving up and upgrading my AV Receiver to act as the HDMI switcher, so everything just goes through HDMI 1 now.
This seems like a good price for essentially the same unit without 3D.
Ive got a 42" LG and a 42" and 32" kogan tv and the Kogans are fantastic. I was really hesitant before buying as ive heard mixed reviews but i cant fault them. The PVR is awesome and the tv quality is great. I got the 42" late last year and use it in the gym with wireless headphones and watch tv off the usb and ive never had a problem.
Thanks you two!
ditto to the 2 comments above. had my 55" led/lcd/3d for ages now and love it
only real poor points
OSD/menus are a little terrible but mines always connected to my htpc so never actually use them anyway.
no ARC audio return which for me is a pain. means running cables both to and from the tv to my amp.
sound is absolutely horrid but really, who buys a 55" tv and does not use an external amp/speakers? in saying that tho, the onboard speakers are "useable" if your in a jam (like you happen to be rearranging your home theater and not yet hooked the amp back up like ive done before) but for sound quality they really would score a 1/10
Expensive lucky dip
