You do not need to argue anything, simply walk in buy it and grab your Blu-ray player as long as the Blu-ray is in stock you will get it free.
I'm going to go pick up mine in 20 mins or so, we'll see.
The fine print says that they both come "hard bundled".
Yeah, I just got rejected.. the model numbers are slightly different with the bundle having an "X" suffix.
You definitely should be able to get it for $105.60, cause if you are paying more for the bundle than the Stereo itself, it's no longer free.
That's incorrect. It's not that price. The unit bundled with blurry is $178. Please verify before posting. U r wasting people time.
Why would a free Bluray player cost you $73 extra?
Think before u negging people. I obviously had been to the store already.
Where in my post did I say the price wasn't $178.00.
Maybe you should report it to the mods, if there is something I have done wrong then they can change it.
the Bluray is meant to be free do you understand?
People u need to go first before posting any comments. The bundle is $178 for 4050 and $214 for the 5050. They are only clearing the units standing alone at $127.
This post should be deleted before it causes any more damage.
You still haven't used the report button.
Just did it.
Posting this deal is not appropriate as it Is based on one incidental successful argument at the store.
Ok Jbhifi should not be charging any more for the Bonus Blu-ray player, like All other retailers, the original price stays the same but you receive the Bonus like DSE,MYER Binglee and so on do
No, there's a special bundle pack..
No luck guys, they got me on the 'bonus' not 'free'.
They said they could do the bundle for $169 but that's it. Someone should tell Sony.In any event, this deal doesn't exist. OP should not mislead people.
JB hifi are misleading people.
The Sony website clearly states - "Buy a MEX-N4050BT Sony Bluetooth car stereo and receive a BONUS BDP-S1200 Blu-Ray player".
And JB's website shows it is $105.60.Whether JB is misleading is a seperate issue.
The key is JB dont have your said deal!
I haven't mislead anyone. I said the price is $178.00.
Ozbargainers are smarter than you think, they can work it out.
If JB want to argue that 'bonus' does not equate to 'free' then send a complaint to the ACCC. It's misleading and deceptive.
Told a friend about this who just picked up both for $105 from JB in Victoria. She had to speak to a manager to get it.
Not sure if she got a set or both separately… Will post back :-)
Heads up for those that do buy, Sony have changed their wiring loom. I have an older Sony unit and assumed that it'd be an easy swap out.. 90 minutes after starting, the car is assembled back in original condition as a result and the new head unit is back in its box.
Thanks for wasting my time Sony, completely unnesessary alteration as far as I can see.PS, there's also no microphone included - no mention of that omission on the box either.
Yeah, for some reason they changed the plug to a slightly smaller one. Luckily they give you the plug you need. I just cut the old style end off an iso->sony adapter and soldered on the new one. I got the 5050 and it came with a microphone. Does the manual list a microphone as being part of the box contents for the model you bought?
I got the 4050, Can't find a parts list on either the box or in the manual.
Eventually found some vague corporate speak that indicates no microphone is included when I saw the "Handsfree Ready" logo, with Ready being the key word there.Didn't have time for soldering 10 wires..
I was already overtime as it was after driving to Jaycar to buy a mic after hunting through my box of electronics junk to find the mic I reckon my wife threw out 6 months ago.
The mic is probably built into the unit itself, like in my Kenwood. Works but not great.
Here is a copy of the offer to take with you. It's pretty straight forward. Buy the car stereo and while you're at it hit them up for a separate bluray for free. It's not like its coming out of their pocket (apart from the extra coin they would make from the "bundle" of course)
I got a Sony soundbar from Myer and took a screenshot of the offer in on my phone just in case. Even though it was the section manager I was dealing with, and he was aware of some of the Summer of Sony promotions, he reckons the rep hadn't told him about that particular one. Not that he had any problem with it, nor were they trying to sell it as a bundle either.
I just bought one of the bundles for the $105 price. They were hesitant at first but I pointed out the box showing the model numbers and the Sony deal and they sold it to me for that price.
Thoamstown in VIC didn't do it. I got the 5050BT instead that came bundled with a Hoover CarVac for $127. I got the last one. It comes with a microphone as well. Not bad at all!
Yeah an external microphone is pretty useful.
I got the same one a few months ago. Great head unit, love it. Though since my phone updated to android 5.0 the Sony app has crashed. Hopefully they fix it soon.
JB must've caught on, they have jacked up the price.
Went in during my lunch break, the 4050 is now $140.80 by itself.
Thanks..
I'm specifically looking for a Sony (to replace a Sony so I don't need to resolder a loom), so would have missed this deal in the other post for a Pioneer.
