DSE Eneloop Panasonic Eneloop AA 8 Pack $14.95 (Click and Collect) or $19.93 Including Shipping

130

As part of "Click Frenzy" they are actually a pretty good deal @ $14.95 if you click and collect to avoid shipping.

Btw, this is my first bargain submit, hopefully its ok

Edit: Smells a little bait & switch'y, … DSE advertise at $14.95 but as far as I can tell, (Sydney metro) NO stores have them in stock for pickup, so shipping is a must for $19.95 inc shipping. The sale should simply state "Free shipping" on the website.

Edit2: As per mbytes' comment below, its worth reading this article - http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?392229-Ja…. It seems Panasonic bought Sanyo, which is fine…but then they decided to move manufacturing to China… not so fine.

This is part of Click Frenzy deals for 2014

  • They were as low as $9.98 delivered before. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/166596

was $2 from CTOD not long ago.

    • That's if you include limited discount codes. In that case I got a completely free pack ;-)

  • These are Panasonics, not Sanyo. BIG difference.

    • Your right, I've edited the title.

However, I took your comment to mean they have changed for the worse? I believe the difference is that they are improved. Panasonic recently purchased Sanyo. The latest eneloops (4th Gen) are now built to more charges @ 2100.

So doesn't seem like a bad thing?

No i think he meant to say SAME DIFFERENCE

  • One correction OP, these are the Panasonic Eneloops(not Sanyo anymore) :)

    • Thanks updated :)

  • So what's the difference between these and the older eneloops?

    • +1

I mentioned above, nothing AFAIK, Panasonic bought Sanyo back in 2013. The 4th Gen Eneloops have been improved to 2100 charges you can read about them here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eneloop#Panasonic_Eneloop_.284t…

Same capacity, same lifetime, same charge retaining. Can handle even more charges now. The only difference is the name change.

      • Damn, really interesting, so more importantly, its a case of panasonic (chinese made) vs panasonic/sanyo (japanese made). japanese panasonic and fujitsu's win

      • thank you!

I assume DSE don't sell anymore JAP produced eneloops?

  • Uhmmm…. any difference between the white one and the choccolate (multicolour) one ?

The following is a message I recieved from DSE when I asked about where the batteries were made from their last sale.

Hi [name changed by me] Psychaotix, Sorry you missed out on our promotion. I suggest you visit our website regularly for updates on Eneloop Batteries. They are very popular and we offer great deals.
I have also confirmed the Eneloop Chocolate batteries are made in China and the other colors are made in Japan. Thanks Amanda #DSHelp

Hopefully that holds true for the most part.
    Psychaotix

    • Production of Australian market Eneloops has switched to China. That is true for all colors. Any Japanese Sanyo stock still available is old stock. Amanda is causing misinformation. Amanda is wrong. Amanda works for Dick.
      "Wrong" happens a lot.

      • Aw damn! I was hoping that things would be decent after that convo… it's really annoying to have a rep who should know better lie to you.

  • Accept the fact that any DSE Eneloop deals are now Panasonic branded.
