  • Instore only? Do they have any of the external camera's at half price as well?

    • I've been searching for external Alerts. If anyone finds one at a JB, can they please post the store so I can see if I can get a local one to do a transfer? TIA.

It is also important to note logitech alert is discontinued
Whilst it sounds good time to buy, but once you are out of warranty, then you will be alone

    See: http://mobile.logitech.com/en-us/video-security-systems/moni…

Personally I want to buy it, but have to reconsider knowing there's no future on this products

I got the outdoor ones for $160s each last time. Probably the best quality for the price. I can't find good alternatives anyway.

      • Just bought a Foscam 9806W for that price from their Australia store. Significantly better quality than the Logitech gear, and it works with other platforms such as Synology.

    • I don't see your point, when ur out of warranty ur out on your own anyway regardless of product, plus repair v's replacement is a no brainer, 2 year warranty plus non master system units still will be supplied which can be operated via poe router.

    • I bought one yesterday and was thinking that for $150 it is much better than a D-Link.

Good price but as said previously Alert series is discontinued so if one breaks down (happens more often for the indoor model, the 700e appears to be more robust) then your only option is to ask for a refund. Could be a lot of hassle if you have already installed it. I recently refunded my whole Alert system and got 3mp Hikvision cameras on Aliexpress. Much better resolution, also has POE option and you're not stuck with the Logitech proprietary software system. They go for $100-130 delivered so much cheaper as well.

Logistics run on poe, with and without non logitech software, plus ONLY master system disc, not the stand alone cameras

So does a lot of other cameras like Hikvision I quoted. Benefit of Alert is that you get everything in the package including the POE adapters. It's not a bad camera system but warranty issue is a major one.

By the way if these things breakdown Logitech doesn't repair or replace them anymore, even if in warranty. They just refund you.

    • Do you have recommendations for Hikvision outdoor camera?

  • http://m.aliexpress.com/item/1946639871.html?productId=19466… I recommend this for indoor - 3mp resolution and night illumination is very good as well. Check reviews online

  • Have been using the logitech system for years and is pretty good. Can't find it on jbhifi site though?

  • I was after as many external camera's that I could get my hands on. Since they are no longer listed online, in-store is the only option. My closes stores were in the Gold Coast/Tweed area only have a couple of the external cameras, so not worth the two hour drive.

Great deal if you can get stock in your local store, thanks OP!

  • Cameras are OK, but forget about the supposed warranty. One of six cameras died well within a year of purchase but Logitech no longer repair or replace these cameras. First they ask for the camera's serial number, then proof of purchase, then bank account details, then for the camera to be returned but conveniently don't provide an address or return reference number. Logitech take a week or two each time to respond then send a reminder email the following day advising if you don't respond within 24 hours they will assume your issue has been resolved. Pathetic customer service, not buying Logitech again.

    • Why deal with logitech?, return to the place of purchase with receipt, as per consumer law, they have to deal with the warranty if asked to.
