  • Why the insain postage cost for such a light item?

    • it's better to pickup than post for Harris Technology

(up to 15MB/second read**, 9MB/second write**)

    it's not really "Hi-Speed" after all… :-(

I'd rather pay $51 for a Corsair Voyager drive.

    https://store.9289.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&c…

So yeah, an extra $3 for a USB drive with better write speeds, and possibly cheaper shipping (or none if picking up from Chatswood).
Only downside is that it's quite easy to loose the cap on the Voyager series.

    • +1

Reviews of the Corsair Voyager 16GB seem to put it's write speed at about 8MB/s (see MaximumPC review - 2GB in 4m10s = 8MB/s). So I'd say they'd be the same or no practical difference in write speed.

The Corsair Voyager has same read & write speed as the Sandisk Cruzers.
The Sandisk Titanium is faster, & it has a "virtually" indestructible case….
If u want faster, then u want either the Sandisk Contour or the Corsair Voyager GT….
      Regards,
      Roberta

    • It feels like the write speed is dog slow on my 16Gb Titanium bought during the last HT sale..
I'm very disappointed with it's performance across a range of late model computers.

That being said, my previous drive was a Corsair Flash Voyager GT which I will never waste money on again, at least not until they put their quality high speed electronics into something other than the lowest of low end cases.. My USB connector snapped off in my pocket after only 8 months use!
Not good enough for a "premium" product..

      • I believe there were many complaints of this problem and thus the reason there are refurbished units out there. Hopefully they have resolved the issue now.

  • Very nice price

  • Go to your local Officework and ask them to match this and get another 5% off. Very good buy.

    • Does Officeworks sell this particular model? I can't seem to find it on their website.

      • They used to, not sure if they still do.

    • good idea!

    • they will price match but won't give another 5% off because HT has the same parent company as OW.

      • They trade as separate (competing) entities.
I have had no problem getting OW to price-match-minus-5% against a HT advertised deal.
E.G. That's what I did back in May, when HT had the MS Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 for $32.95 and OW sold it to me for $31.30.
From feed-back across this site, OW staff/management seem to apply the advertised policy unequally.
I've always been able to get the PM-5% at any of the OW stores I've shopped at in Brisbane (providing I'm willing to wait while staff verify the deal/availability - which is only reasonable), no matter how great the price difference.
E.G. Samsung ML-2010D3 (genuine) laser printer toner cartridge:
        $129.80 @ OW
        $49 @ MSY
        OW PM-5% = $46.55
        Perhaps I've just been lucky???
        \_/7

      • From my experience, I'd disagree with that. I've gotten OW to pricematch HT on many occasions, and have also gotten another 5% on top of that.

Last one was that Microsoft wireless mouse for $34 - 5% :) Bargain!

Dealsdirect offers Kingston DataTraveler 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive $47 shipped.
    http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/kingston-datatraveler-16gb-u…

    • Slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

  • They are probably clearing them out to make way for the SANDISK CRUZER TITANIUM 2 16GB

    • Which will have fast electronics

  • For a 16Gb LG for under $40 posted, see http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/16918

(only a 24 hour deal though)

    • System Performance: USB Spec 2.0:
      Read (10.0 Mb/s),
      Write (64MB below: 4.0 Mb/s, 128MB above : 8.0 Mb/s)

You pay for what you get - if you are going to primarily read, its not bad. But for $8 more, I have one in hand with better read/write performance, not to mention its the titanium hard case version

  • Apparently they have plenty of stock 1000+, hence the sale!

  • +1

I'm very happy with my Kingston DataTraveler HyperX, much faster (comparable with Corsair Voyager GT) but unfortunately stock can be hard to find. I wanted 8GB but could only get 4GB. $28 on staticice for the 4GB is great considering its performance though. It's bashing as a readyboost drive in another computer now. Was also fantastic installing Vista - way faster than DVD.

Sorry I went off topic somewhat.

This deal is still good for those not requiring blistering speed but still desiring more than yumcha performance too.

  • My local officeworks stores don't have this one, so i can't get a PM-5%.

    This includes stores in Brisbane:
    - Milton
    - Wooloongabba
    - Oxley
