Still a few days away, but Singles Day in China is also the biggest shopping event in the world as they claimed (USD$5.75 billion transaction over 24 hours last year). It has also gone international. For this year, AliExpress is having many shops doing 50% off items and $10 off when you spend USD $99 or more. So

  • You don't need to be in China to participate.
  • You don't need to be single to shop either.

We'll use this post as overall discussion on this event next Tuesday.

This is part of Singles' Day Sales for 2014.

  • Have any one heard of taobao (Chinese Amazon)… Any recommendation ..

PS: I don't know Chinese use google chrome translation :)

    • I buy from Taobao, I use an agent Bhiner to buy from them. If you put the link in the Bhiner website it does the translating for you.
Shipping can be expensive, but they are always online to chat to them on Skype for the best shipping method.

  • just simple, don't do business there if in doubt. buy somewhere else with more assurance of quality and not wasting money, time, energy, to get refund

  • I bought a 3f ul gear tent on aliexpess. Great value, but only after talking to the seller to get a reasonable price.

  • Agent would add cost extra, right? Where is the value if we need extra services?

  • So not really a sale then Orders over US$999, US$100 off for the first 100 Applicable Orders??

Only applied to the 100 people

  • Guys.. i am interested in few of the things,

specially in flash deals that will be happening 1 hour every hour on 11th NOv.

    http://activities.aliexpress.com/1111_digital_world.php?spm=…

i know they will send the alert of the specific item if you have set the alert but still better be prepared.

regards to all of you :).

    thanks

    • GMT-8 i assume. Because the beginning of the 11.11 sale is expressed in GMT-8 on the site
      http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone/gmt-8/

And all the good items have so few availability…. -_-

Actually it appears to be PST time as it's targeting the US market. Currently counting down 10 hours to go, so starting 7PM ADST (Sydney/Melbourne).

        • +2

I assumed it would be run on time in China and I did receive an e-mail from them saying it had started - but as you say it's still counting down.

About as clear as ebay usually is!

  • i've got $116 for US$200 money on aliexpress, thanks, hopefully i can score mi4 & Teclast for AUS $116 :)

    • +1

  • bought an octacore 2gb phone US$85. hopefully the specs are somewhere near what they advertised

    • received octacore 2gb phone for US$85. it totally is an octacore 2gb 8gb phone. ran it through antutu and the specs were exactly as described -

—Media Tek MTK6592 Octa Core 1.7GHz
—5.0 Inch IPS HD Multi Touch 1280*720px
      —2GB RAM + 8GB ROM Nand Flash
      —Operation System : Android 4.2
—Front 5.0MP Rear 13.0 MP Dual Cameras
      —GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz
      —WCDMA 900/2100 MHz

awesome replacement phone as Mrs Altomic's other china droid suffered from gravity induced display failure (dropped phone and smashed screen)

      stoked

  • this mi4 16gb for $271 (http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/original-phone-xiaom…), worry it might be fake as it is too cheap, so decide to kept looking at others, and it sold out

  • Anyone verify these 128GB Micro Sd for US$17 work? Or are they a rip off Sandisk that don't have 128GB storage? http://m.aliexpress.com/item/2052012526.html?productId=20520…

    • they are fake. I can't verify it but experience has taught me that this is too cheap and hence would be fake

aliexpress + too cheap micro SD = fake.

also the package shown below the big micro sd is standard of fake micro sd cards.

      • Yeah thats what I thought. Guess i was hoping for more since they say its from $129.80 down.

  • Got me some led lighting for under the kitchen cabinets. Aliexpress kept giving me coupons… shop discount, 11.11 discount, using mobile discount. Crazy bargain!
