SYD - SIN on Qantas from AUD $750 return

220

Hi guys,

Just booked my ticket on Qantas from Sydney to Singapore on 15 Jan - 7 Feb for $785 and thought to myself it's really good value for a full service airline. Seems like plenty of ticket left.

These are the dates on their website.

09 Nov 2014 to 04 Dec 2014 $750
16 Jan 2015 to 25 Mar 2015 $750
25 Apr 2015 to 26 Jun 2015 $750
14 Jul 2015 to 18 Sep 2015 $750

I checked dates round the same period of time on Singapore Airlines and British Airways and their prices are higher. I don't compare to Scoot or Jetstar as they're budget airlines.

Enjoy !

    Standard sale fare for Qantas.

I miss the Brazil exploit :(

enlighten me on the Brasil exploit please ?

    • yep, those were the days. managed to get MEL - SIN return 3 times for under $450…

agree, this is a very standard fare when its on sale. I miss brazil days. managed to get bne-lhr via mel - dxb and rtn leg dxb -syd for $1053 rtn on A380. happy days. Ps qantas staff gave me a weird look when they saw the fare paid.

  • Don't expect to find any SYD-SIN flights leaving and returning in January to be less than $900. There are some cheap departure dates in late January but the cheap return dates are not available until a few days into February.

    • Maybe OP can confirm aircraft type

Jetstar does not fly from SYD to SIN so what you said is incorrect.

I'd checked and made sure they're Qantas plane operated by Qantas before I booked.

I don't think that's right - for example, from Sydney there's QF81 and QF5, from Melbourne you have QF35, from Brisbane there's QF51. They don't fly their A380s on this route but these are certainly not Jetstar flights.

    • This is completely incorrect. Qantas have a huge number of direct flights to Singapore from MEL and SYD. They also recently spent a huge amount of money upgrading the Qantas Singapore lounge.

Well we went Sydney to sin three months ago we were booked with Qantas and we were put on a Jetstar flight. When we returned we contacted Qantas to ask by we were not advised it was a code share with Jetstar. We were told as Qantas has moved their international hub to Dubai all Singapore flights with the exception of three from Melbourne and two from Brisbane each week are Jetstar code shares.

Was your flight from Sydney ?

      • Yes.

Go have a look at Jetstar network. They don't fly from Sydney to Singapore so I find it odd what you claim.

@tomleonhart: I think I know the flight number he is referring to, it's BS1

    • are you sure, you even called Qantas to get this information ? would be interesting to listen to that call..!!
