      • So can't coupon it :(

        • couldn't anyway :(

        • @TRENT86: Any idea how this would show up on receipt? Thinking about future price protection on my credit card.

        • @lethological: No not too sure buddy sorry,

  • +1

Great device. Finally good price in Oz. You can get them for $99 posted from the manufacturer, getpebble.com, but it takes 3-4 weeks to get here.

    • +1

And that's $99US. Makes it about $113 with today's exchange rates.

      • Yeah pretty good price from dse

  • darnit!! i paid $116 (USD$99) for new red pebble from the US almost two weeks ago.

    • Whats it like?

      • The Pebble is great. I received mine from getpebble.com 2 weeks after they shipped. It's great for being notified when you phone isn't with you.

        • Awesome thanks for the info :)

        • +3

You mean, like, the phone in your pocket? Isn't it Bluetooth?

      • oh absolute gem! one of the best buy gadget.
their appstore is growing with apps and watchface.

the only reason i pulled the trigger with pebble is because the battery life 5-7days.

        so far i like
*great e-ink display - easy to read outdoor
*notification - goodbye phantom vibration http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phantom_vibration_syndrome

        i dont like
        *clumsy magnetic charger
        *8 apps limitation

        • Ok now I gotta get one :)

        • +1

I've been looking into buying a smartwatch (w/ google wear), but the less than stellar battery life of the many colour models has put me off until it improves.

Seeing as the pebble is the next best thing, might actually consider getting one to tide me over till then. 1wk battery life is not bad at all. Only means 52 charges a yr.

        • @TRENT86:

It's a great device that works just as advertised, but I just want you to also know a new one is coming out soon, so don't buy it in too much of a hurry if you can wait.

        • @AmeryD: Yeah but I would never pay over this price for one. I wonder what the new one will cost? Maybe $199

        • +5

          @TRENT86:

By all means, get it if you can, this little gem is great, life becomes easier when you can have constant access to a timer, stopwatch, calculator, news feed, fitness tracker, turn by turn navigation on your wrist, that also happen to pick up all your notifications and emails, control your music, all while letting you pick between literally thousands of watchfaces. If you get creative you can control lights in your house, or robots, or do powerpoint presentation. The better you are with tinkering, the more you get out of the watch.

Important thing to keep in mind:
The Pebbles have a serious screen defect issue, where after awhile your screen might start scrambling, and eventually break down completely and become unusable. The guys at Pebble will be happy to replace it if you are still within the one year warranty, or sometimes even when you're not, they are great people. When buying, ask to see the watch outside of the box, flip the watch over. If the watch has screws on it, that means it's less likely to break. If it doesn't, buy it knowing there's higher risk of it screwing up and you having to back and forth and send for replacement.

        • @kwetiaw
I think the small price difference is not the quibble, but did you get a local warranty? Thanks for ur experience and infor. btw.

        • @marcozmitch:
          All pebbles got worldwide warranty.

  • Thanks OP. Price protection here I come.

Edit: they didn't have the pebble steel when I bought :(

  • Link to black working for anyone else? I get a 404 not found

Anyone know anything about the DS TV?

I won't be staring at the 54.5" Dick for too long - just to tide me over until 4K matures…

    • It's up to $619.69 which is still not too bad I guess.

  • Where can I find proof of that PS4 deal?

I want to take a copy of it with me into the store.

  • Pebble announced a new Pebble is coming out Quarter 1 next year, hence the sale from DSE.
Don't purchase this one if you can hold out a few more months. Saucy Source

    • No they are not on clearance, this price will be back up to $179 On Tuesday

    • +2

a new Pebble is coming out Quarter 1 next year

      Just a stones-throw away…

      • +1

        Yeah not for $109 though

        • True, but good luck with limited support for this model come Q1 2015

  • I'm looking for a thin smart watch would this be it

    • It's about 1 cm in thickness. You can get thinner, but the watch is not bulky.

  • How do I order the black pebble?

    • click the link given and just click add to cart

  • 6" tablet… Really?

    • -1

Yeah have you not heard of the Kindle touch 6"?

    • yeah, my phone is bigger than that.

  • ozbargain comes through for me again! Been wanting a Pebble after much research. Had my eye on GetPebble but just knew my Ozbargain Brothers & Sisters would find me a better / quicker deal. Click & Collect for tomorrow & BANG! Ozbargain has come through for me again.

  • Would love to get the LG Watch R but for less than a third the price I decided to see what all the fuss is about this Pebble gadget.

  • Anyone know if Australia is even gonna get the Pebble steel?

  • -1

how would it compare with the likes of these:

    R-Watch wearable SmartWatch from Lightinthebox.com

    http://www.lightinthebox.com/rwatch-sexy-m18-0-96-inch-bluet…

    or

    SOLD
LED U8 Pro Bluetooth Watch TouchScreen Smart Watch Phone from Gumtree I saw that apparently 'sold out'.?

    • +1

Holy crap that thing is ugly. Absolute garbage.

    • +2

      Probably 3 hour battery life

    • No one seems to give you a proper answer, so I will.

The R watch seems to be a good deal if all the features claimed are real.
The Pebble's advantage is it's app store and better bluetooth. The app store let you pick and choose how your watch look, or you can even make it yourself pretty quickly. There are a ton of apps for everything, and the bluetooth is 4.0 so it save battery.

The R's watchface don't seem to be changeable, and I doubt the support system is as good and it doesn't seem to really support iOS. You are taking a risk buying it, but the stake is pretty low for $20.

A review for the U8 from youtube.

  • Will DJ price match?

  • +1

Oh fantastic. Was sitting on the sidelines with the watch. This sealed the deal for me. Thanks =D

  • OW sell this for $139 on their regular price. However they can't pricematch due to it's online only item.
    I will wait till below $90 as I think it's a bit pricey… :)

    • You will be waiting a while, this price goes back to $179 on Tue, im amazed DSE didnt' exclude it from their codes since it was already $50 off

  • How will 179.oo compare with my equivalently priced GWATCH sourced-from ebay's 15% off recent sale ;p.

  • Thanks OP, now I will have one in time for PAX!

  • Picked one up yesterday.
    Good little gadget.
