Found this great deal from mwave.com.au. ONLY $19.95, next price on staticice.com.au is $115.19 that's a saving of almost $100, now that's a massive bargain. Cheaper if you're in sydney and you can pick it up. There are only 38 left and strictly while stock lasts. It's a random product but at this price, definitely worth getting if you were ever thinking about it.

I'm no longer a ozbargain virgin :)

  • I'd assume the ports would be pretty weak in terms of power. And ExpressCards are a pain for this sort of thing because they're often not very secure and pop out easily when plugging/unplugging cables.

  • Sorry noob question…how do this hook up to my laptop? Can it work on all laptop?

no, you need to have an expresscard slot on your computer. otherwise yes, just install the drivers.

      • Thanks just found out my Latitude D620 supported ExpressCard: 34 mm with adapter. :(
Cheapest postage $14.62 is a killer!

  • Not a bad deal if you need firewire, but if you need more USB, why not just get a cheap hub?

    • because maybe hubs dangle out? sucks if your on the move…

      • because maybe hubs dangle out? sucks if your on the moveā€¦

So does this, it doesnt sit flush with your laptop.
It is going to sit something like this http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/6815/expresscard070266.jpg

If you have a fitted sleeve or the correct size laptop case, you will need to remove it just like a USB hub.

        • The thing is if you want to use your laptop on your lap e.g. when your on a bus or train, the express card isn't as intrusive as a hub.

          • @ejsteven: lol, epic argument.
either way, you've got to carry the external hard drives etc that plug into the pci card/usb hub. lol

for the record i have 3 USB hubs - all AC powered.

  • awesome deal. needed one of these for my little home studio to cnnect to the laptop! thanks!

  • It's a good price if you are looking for something like this. But be warned that the large end may crack or even snap after a while if you always leave it in the PCMCIA slot.

I think a better choice would be to get a 4 port USB hub for laptop, if extra USB ports is all you need.

I wonder how it compares to the $17 dealextreme version? Also, the cheapest Belkin on StaticICE may be $115, but there is a 'Skymaster' for $52.

  • This is an awesome deal.
