Prepaid Motorola F3 phone $39 Optus locked (can use with isim)

90

A neat looking cheap phone. Because its locked to Optus, you can still use it on the isim network which has

Call rates of 39c/min, billed per second - so a 6 sec call costs 4c rather than 60 plus cents as with other plans. No flag fall on national calls 15c SMS (per message sent of 160 characters).

Isim was rated the best prepaid service/deal by money magazine 3 years running

see http://www.isim.com.au/Prepaid/Home.aspx

So buy this for $39 then add the isim BYO prepaid sim (19.95) and get $20 worth of calls with a 6 month expiry date.

  • Thanks! It's a good looking slim no-frills phone!

    Here are some reviews:

Seems to be good at doing what it intended to do, i.e. making phone calls, and then nothing much else.

  • I've played around with this phone and it's a real pain in the backside to send and read SMS. Only good for calling.

    • Thanks for sharing!

I am thinking of getting this phone as my old Nokia 1100 no longer rings after it went swimming in the washing machine (still takes call though). I am looking for a cheap phone to replace it — any suggestion on the best phone under 50 bucks?

  • Why not go for the 1112 at strathfield - its optus and you will have same interface as with the 1100.

Alternatively I have a friend (you know "The old friend trick" ) who has a 1100 sitting in a cupboard no longer used - unlocked - let me know by PM and I can negotiate a price if you like. My guess its worth about $20

    • Well. I think I'll check out the Nokia 1112. 1100 has crappy reception compare to my other old Nokias (or maybe it has just been beaten up too much)…

  • DSE still has some stock listed online, also for $39. They're locked to Optus but iSim sounds like a good deal (see first post). Optus also has them for $39 (locked of course…).
