  Your product says it comes with a 1 year manufacturer's warranty so I assume you are implying that it is not a gray import and will be honored by Canon Australia?

  If that is the case this is extremely good value as even gray import sites like DWI sells it for 665 AUD, with postage around $60 I believe.

  The 450D is a pretty decent camera, with a relatively good pixel density and will be a pretty good camera for starters. The body is not magnesium alloy like the XXD series, but for the price unless you can find a 40D it is a good bargain. Paired with a 17-85mm and/or 50mm f/1.8 prime it takes very nice pictures :)

  This is a good deal, however, on 1st September I got the 500D from TopBuy for $827.00 plus free shipping and 5% back via MoneyBackCo which made the camera $785. I received the camera this morning. :)

    how did you get the free shipping, may i ask? and was it a gray import? that's a freaking good price.

    my friend got the 500d twin lens kit for 1400 or so when it first came out. my 450d one lens (is) kit was 1000 exactly one year ago. both aust stock.
