Logitech Harmony 670 Universal Remote - $69 at DSE

80

First post!

Was looking for a Logitech remote and found the 670 for $69 at DSE. Lowest price on staticice for it is $99; this is as cheap as the cheapest Logitech remote (the 525) on staticice. I am not sure how they compare; it's received generally positive reviews on amazon.com and I'm quite happy with it, and it's cheaper than anything I can find in Sydney.

Note that it's an in-store deal only - click on "availability" on the page to check which store you can purchase it in.

Very good deal for a good quality universal learning remote, considering the lower spec entry level Harmony 525 remote sells for more than this price. Although from reading the reviews on the web its not as robust as the higher end model remotes.

  • I see they also have the 515 for $77. How does that one compare (feature-wise) to this one?

    • The 515 seems to be arbitrarily limited to control at most 5 devices. I think the 670 doesn't have this artificial limitation.

  • my universal remote costed me $8.5 and it has been working for more than 4 years.
it controls 5 devices in my home: 2 tv, 2 dvd players and a reverse cycle heater :)

I dont understands why people thinks $69 is cheap. I would not spend $30 on any universal remote control.

I am curiours, What do people use these expensive remote controls for?

    • Your $8.5 universal remote is completely difference kind. e.g. When you need to play DVD you have to use it to change your TV to Video and use it again to turn on your DVD player and start playing.

Have a look what it can do before your comment.

$69 worth or not really hard to say.

    • My Harmony One allows me to press a single touch-screen button, labelled "Watch TV" and with a picture of a TV, to turn on my TV, Foxtel, surround sound receiver, set the channel buttons to control Foxtel and the Volume buttons to control the audio from the receiver. This activity was setup by the Logitech servers and beamed to my remote in a matter of minutes with virtually no input on my behalf. It then presents me with a grid of my most frequently visited channels on the touch screen, complete with a network logo for each, and goes direct to that channel upon pressing it. One button turns everything off and ensures no other components have been left on.

      Harmony One retails for $399.95.

      :)

      (Bought mine for $185)

  • its logitech. Every one loves logitech stuff.. And on a side note to the 8.5 buck remote thing. people spend a ton on mercs, bmws, and other luxury cars when a cheap hyandai would do… So you know.

  • Rang up earlier and there's 1 left at the Nunawadding Store, but it's repaired and not new.

  • The 670 has been this price for months at DSE, so if they don't have it in stock now, chances are it will still be $69 when they do get it in.

  • You may have to replace these gadgets every 2-3 years. If kids using them every year.I am buying aldi remotes and throw them out every 18 months.
