MechPro Pressure Washers. 60% OFF @ Repco - 1600psi $59. 1900psi $67. 2200psi $119

130

You will just want to go and dirty your car, or get your kids dirty to use the excuse to go and buy one of these at this price!

I have noticed that on page 1 of the Catalogue they have the Mechpro 2200psi(MP8180) advertised as $89 Save $120 5.5Ltr min flow. Page 4 they have a MechPro 2200psi(MP9170) advertised as $119 6.7ltr min flow, but has the induction motor and built in detergent bottle. Just thought I would make that easier in case anyone rings for a stock check.

Don't expect the quality of a $300+ Karcher, but it is a good price for an around the yard/car cleaner.

They also have 40% off Silverline Brake Pads and 30% off TRW Rotors.

Thanks to @theological they also have the floor scrubber attachments for $14.99 to suit the MP7145, MP7160, MP8180 and MP9170

Mechpro 2200psi(MP8180) $89- I got this one, and its did a fine job on the driveway. It's worth mentioning they have the floor cleaner head attachment on the same catalogue for these units for $15, definitely worth a buy if you are doing the driveway as it comes with its own detergent dispenser (note: this model ALSO has a detergent dispenser, same as the other, but you can only use it when you lower the pressure on the hose. With the head unit you can have it at full pressure although the dual rotating heads will still decrease pressure somewhat)

    • Thanks for the info.

Flow rate is important, PSI is not the be all and end all. 5.5L a minute is quite iffy.
Still, $104 to clean a driveway is tempting.

  • I've been wondering if this (link below) is the cheapest quality unit available. But not sure what the components are made of (brass would be ideal). I missed out when it was $320 because I didnt know.

I have bought and used both the 2200psi models (induction and non-induction).

The non-induction one is like a child's water pistol compared to Karcher and Gerni of similar strength. It does a fine job of wetting whatever you point it at but short of placing the end of the nozzle 5cm away from the surface it doesn't strip/clean anything(eg dirt off your rims or house roof or from your driveway. This is most likely due to the low 5.5L/min.

The induction model is a lot better. It does a fine job and is on par with the more expensive brands. However, try lugging a 25kg bag of horse feed/grain around and up a ladder and you will see how heavy the damn thing is for only 2200 psi. This thing will not leave the ground and even then you will have a bad time if you gotta maneuver it up steep areas.

In short, they're cheap but rightly so.

i dont understand all the hate for these. i have the 2200psi and its awesome. have any of the haters ever actually used one of these or just going by something you have heard?

fwiw ive used a multitude of pressure washers over several decades all the way up to multi-thousand dollar industrial machines that will strip perfectly good paint off and while obviously a $10k industrial washer is going to be around $10k better these cheap mechpros hold up perfectly well against any of the "better" branded cheap ones (gerni/karcher etc) washers.
