  • finally it showed up for me. but not sure if it worked as i get undefined error when i pressed complete order button. in the Payment Review it says No shipping information available. . does anyone know the mobile site url?

  • Had numerous issues. First couldn't pay with Paypal. Then tried entering CC details manually and still didn't work. Cleared my cart and tried again and applied code successfully. Got same issue again with Paypal, so tried entering CC details again manually - clicked the button to order, then noticed the total price was $10! Hit stop but checked my email and the order went through (typical).

    Went and ordered another one, this time successfully with the code. So spent $10 for $15.

    • Update: Both orders were cancelled. Even the one where I paid full price!

    After using Paypal and confirming the order on the DSE gateway did anyone just get a blank web page after a looong wait … but still get an effective purchase?
    Mine is not showing in my DSE past transactions list page hmm

    • Mine is showing in my transactions page.. Check your PayPal account to see if the money was deducted.

  • Finally kept clicking submit and checking paypal and then I saw I paid $5 to dick smiths from paypal even though it said unable to place order, got a confirmation email for dicks and it says we will pick your order Monday?

          yes, I have put in a paypal dispute and requested $10 back for the dickup.

  • Well in cart view it said it was vaid, everything ok tried to pay for it. thought about it for awhile. then came up with some error messages now saying "Sorry, we are unable to validate your Promotional Voucher. Please confirm you have entered the correct voucher code, and check for any exclusions before calling our Customer Service team on 1300 366 644"

    Hmmm, seems like one of my two orders went through on the DS site. In My Account Orders I can see only one order. But my PayPal has debited two transactions!

    Hopefully DS will honor both, or refund one asap if it didn't go through.

    I orderd 2 and have been charged 2 x $5 from Paypal but no Dick Smith order confirmations in my 2 different email address's that I used.

  • I have got a feeling this deal with last "GIFT5" deal bond to limit one per payment account.

    I have 6 "$5" payment pending in my bank account, while I only received 1 confirmation and followed by digital code.

    Now I need to pay attention to my account recent. Just in case no end up paying 30 dollars for a 10 dollar gift card….

  • I thought I made one successful purchase and just missed out on a second, but upon checking my paypal it seems that the one that went through although it stated $5.00 charge, I was charged $10 somehow (seems to of happened to a few people). Completely not worth the effort to get the $5 off now i'm at $0 off and more effort to fix it. FAIL

    Unable to place the order.

    Originally tried cc but that didn't work so used PayPal???

    Unbelievable… I snuck off from work for sneaky break for this BS…. Shame.. should be penalised from some government agency! Cause I can promise you if you or I lie for gain its called white collared crime, we would get charged with fraud.. (over exaggerating I know but still how can a $100 million company commit such a lie or a major "forgot to enter promotion code" error like this..)

  • Mine x 2 processed, except confirmation screens from DSE timed out. Have received emails from Paypal showing 2 debits of $5 but nothing from DSE. Looks like will have to dispute with Paypal.

  • It charged my credit card twice. I don't think the order went through. I tried paying with paypal and cc. It kept saying select an alternative payment method and other errors like 'un-defined code'.

  • Can someone tell me (for next time) where/how you enter these codes? I tried at the regular checkout (had to add something to get the code box to come up) but no luck.
    when buying through the gift card section i got all the way to entering my credit card details but still hadn't seen anywhere i could avoid the $5 shipping charge (therefore voiding the $5 i would've been making)nor anywhere to enter a code.
    and if it isn't already obvious, i'm new here… :)

        • After you add it to your cart go to checkout. There is a box on the left that says something like "add promotional voucher." Enter the code and then, "apply." Above that is say in green writing is has been applied, or red for "not working." Continue through checkout.

    Paypal deduced the money so dispute it is

    For those that used Paypal, got charged twice but only received 1 confirmation email, check the Paypal confirmation emails and there should be an "Invoice ID" which should correspond to the Dick Smith Order #.
    Perhaps we can check with Dick Smith using these Order #s and ask if the order can be honored, that is if you want the gift card. Otherwise, then dispute on Paypal to get money back.

      Hmmm, what the… My Invoice ID's are exactly the same for 2 of my PayPal transactions. The Transaction ID's are difference (obviously), but the Invoice ID is exactly the same.

      Fkn DS offer this sht, but can't even keep up with it or handle it on their site. Pathetic.

      I'll be submitting a PayPal dispute. What a waste of time.

        • Mine was actually for two seperate transactions made on the DS site.

          My first order hung on a white screen after confirming the order. Checked PayPal and transaction for $5 was processed. No order was seen in My Account on DS site.

          Second order went all the way through in the DS site and got confirmation in My Account, as well as a transaction in PayPal.

          So I have 2x PayPal transactions that went through successfully, but only 1 in DS. And… Both PayPal transactions show up the same Invoice ID, different Transaction ID's.

        They're probably getting spammed with like 100's of calls based off the error, everyone pretty much got it

      • Customer service is hopeless. Couldnt find order and then says it will take 3 to 5 days to get the confirmation email with order details. But they will keep checking, Hmmm….

    For those who used credit card but not receiving any acknowledgment mail, how can you dispute this? Call Dick or Bank?

    • The bank will require that you've tried to resolve it with the merchant first.

    C'mon guys, chill out, you'll get your money back, no point spamming their phone lines and then getting annoyed at the long wait times. They'd obviously be aware of the issues now, and would (hopefully) be working on it.

    I'm gonna give them 2 days, if I don't have a refund, then I'll call. But for now, I'm just gonna chill and laugh at people getting worked up

    Just got email both of my orders are cancelled due to "unable to verify the card holder". Poor Dick!

      • I ordered 5 in total from the 1st and 2nd deal. Received 4 confirmation mail, 2 were cancelled and got one card so far (the 1st one). Wonder if Dick actually verify the name and address? I put the same name and address for all orders but used different credit card and used PayPal once as well.

    My order was cancelled ( just a single order) but they went further to say …

    "We regret to inform you that with the details you have provided we have been unable to verify that order 10XXXXXXXX was placed by the authorised card holder. As such we have chosen to cancel this order.Your payment was in a pre-authorisation "held" status with your card provider. Upon cancellation of the order Dick smith has requested that your card provider release these funds back to you.       Nothing to do with your credit card. Standard DS BS message. Received the same cancellation email from the first deal, so used a different credit card for today's deal.

  • My order got cancelled too, due to "cannot verify card holder". Not only the gift card order, but also two printers that I ordered last night. I think I have a bad track record by returning stuff several times? They decided to ban me from further order?
