Mine was doing the same, but then I reloaded the page and tried submitting it again. Got an error saying that the previous transaction token was successful and I couldn't submit again. Checked my PayPal account and they have deducted $5! So I guess it worked =D

EDIT. tried again when you got payment page you have option to put in the code again .. and this time it stays and works fine

Check your order history on the DS site. I just got a blank screen after payment but got a confirmation email from paypal and the order was marked as paid in DS.

I got the same "Paypal reject" after trying to pay. Got a confirmation from PayPal but not from DSE. I had to purchase as a guest because the code wouldn't work when I was logged in. No idea if it worked or not! :P

Paid via paypal but dick smith page got stuck on loading screen, no confirmation, and no trace of the transaction in my orders. PayPal went through as $5. No idea if I will actually get the gift card.
