    What's in the box:
    - Veggies

Am..am I being trolled here? Who in their right mind is going to have completely random produce delivered. People have their favorites, dislikes, and how do you plan for recipes?

I get that it's seasonal but this seems nuts, and the $15 delivery doesn't help either.

      • Veggies: 6kg (with at least 4 different types of veggies for variety)

      So you'll get 2kg potato. 2kg carrots. 1 kg cauliflower. 1kg capsicum.

At Harris Farm Carrots are $2/kg, imperfect potatos are $1/kg, cauliflower are $3.30 each, capsicums are $4.5/kg.

That's less than $15. No need to include shipping.

    • Exactly, Aussie Farmers Direct works because they tell you what's in the box each week. Even the other categories just say the same thing e.g. "Smoothie ingredients".

    • Hi Merlict,

To keep costs low, we provide a range of produce in our produce boxes, and as you've stated, it's seasonal. If you have any particular items you would want to avoid, please contact us via the 'Contact Us' page, and we'll try to do our best to do so.

That said, having a sort of 'mystery box' is somewhat common practice with the selling of 'produce boxes' - I guess if customers got to choose what produce they wanted each week, our service would be more like Coles/Woolies online shopping, and that's not where aiming for.

      Thanks for your comment!

      • You say you're a new business looking for feedback but then you're clearly just dismissing this suggestion. As I said, Aussie Farmers Direct (who I've never ordered from, but seem to be the market leader here) are able to say approximately what is in their boxes. Their produce is seasonal as well but that's why they update their contents listings each week. Not only that, their price is $26 for 6-8kg of veg while yours is $30.

Thank you heatseeker for your advice.

I have since adjusted pricing so 9kg veg is $15.70 shipped, a better deal than AFD, and will strive to provide content listings ASAP. Hopefully the price difference can offset the current issues.

          Thank you again.

      • …having a sort of 'mystery box' is somewhat common practice with the selling of 'produce boxes'…

Good luck with your new business but that's the reason I'll never buy random produce boxes.

    where is the bargain ?

umm .. rep .. did you notice that the website says ozbargain.com.au

      Hi easternculture (and all),

We're a new business, and are keen to know your thoughts on what you feel are appropriate pricing for our products - please let us know, and we'd be sure to adjust our prices accordingly. Obviously our current prices are not right!

      Thanks!

      • This is a bargain website, not for spamming "appropriate pricing" for your new business.

          Apologies pmupsinep,

Clearly I had a skewed perception of a bargain. I have since adjusted pricing so that boxes are significantly cheaper than competitors ($15.70 for 9kg of veg shipped, as opposed to $26 for 6-8kg of veg at Aussie Farmers Direct).

          Thanks

Maybe $10 a box of 6kg Grade A fruit and/or veggies with free shipping.

  • Tough crowd

  • Fruit and veg must be cheap in Sydney cos I think the prices aren't to bad ( I'm on the gold coast)

  • Looks like e site isn't working at the moment.
