4 Free Desura Games (Sloth Simulator, Shenanigans Multiplayer and More)

80

2 games (Sloth Simulator and Shenanigans Multiplayer) look great, I'll be playing them with friends.
Not sure about the other two (City of Steam: Arkadia and BoxesWithGuns).

  • Mention Desura in the title please.

    • Tried but I'm at maximum character count for the title.
      I'll tag it as Desura.

  • Abbreviate one of the game-names, and add DESURA to the title; it would stop lots of peeps wasting their time.
Is it possible to just add these free games to your account without actually installing them (i.e. like you can do on Steam, Origin etc.)? I'm low on disk space at the moment, but it seems the only way to "get" these free Desura games is to actually install them?
As a work-around, if you install them then uninstall them, do they remain associated with your account?

      1. Mods did that for me.
      2. Yes I believe it is possible by just pausing the installation.
      3. You can uninstall them and still have them in your game library. There is a prompt upon clicking uninstall to remove the game files and keep it in your list.
      • Ah cool, thanks for your time/rapid-response to my query/info BB.

Good post (now that the mods fixed the title ;-) )

      • EDIT: You can just click ''Add to Collection'' on games you want on their website, and as long as you have a Desura account and are signed in, you dont have to install them.

  • A bit off topic here but say I had a Desura game that was also on steam. Would I be able to play the game through Desura with my friends that play it on Steam? Thanks

If the game allows for hosting servers, then I don't see why not.

Login to your account on Desura website, view your collection and filter by Steam Key.

Chances are that if the game is available on Steam the developer/publisher will have a free Steam key waiting for you.

      • Awesome thanks! :)

Edit: A quick update, the game I got was in the form of the key gifted to me. So no steam key there but I did email customer support and I'll have to wait and see if they send me a steam key.
