      I am not sure, i have it in my steam library and i don't buy game on steam. I assume i got it for free but maybe got it as a gift.

  seems like next time i will just use a throwaway accounts to get deals since it will mostly be steam codes and the gifts sure worth more than the troubles of referrals.
