$89.99 USD which is the lowest price on Amazon in a long while according to camelcamelcamel. Really like this one as it comes with no bloat ware and is nice & small in size, USB powered & comes with the Amazon guarantee.

MAC compatible too for those interested.

The lowest price locally is $139, so a bit of savings there. Would have been more had our dollar not to fall in the last couple of days.

I would probably prefer this deal: $109 2TB Samsung from ShoppingExpress:

EDIT: Looks like it has expired

why would you prefer samsung over WD ?

I bought one of these a few hours ago. The discount doesn't apply until you use the code at the checkout.

  • Hoping to pick same up tomorrow Ebay.

tonka, I thought the same and had a quick look around ebay before I posted this, but even with the 15% off this works out cheaper

      • Yeah, I think if I was lucky maybe get one around same price.

You are right, worth considering this instead with no potential Ebay drama. Any idea how quick delivery is?

        • tonka, between the 20th & 26th is the shipping estimate.

This one comes out at $110.50, and it's free shipping from perth

        • Didn't see those listings yesterday, and after much oohing & aahing & wanting to pull the trigger on the passport's at 10am, I think I will stick with Amazon. I feel I get my money's worth with them & in the numerous orders I have placed with them in the past, had one issue and they were so quick to help & resolve the problem, no putting you onto the manufacturers & endless waiting around.

        • Don't forget about that $5 credit we got from Paypal a while ago! :D

  • 5 to 10 days service is quite good and i think there should be no drama.

Just a reminder that for WD RMA, you nees to send it at your own expense to Singapore/ china

For Seagate, its to a local address the forwards it to OS

    • I complained enough to WD and they paid for all shipping costs for me, but definitely annoying not having an Australian address

this is the same with Kingston products. They make you use Fedex and it costs a bomb. The warranty is misleading advertising I think. This is something I always look out for now.

    • Thanks for the info.
Almost canceled my order for two 2TB Seagate Expansion portable drives, to get these instead, as I am a bit of a WD fanboy.

Honestly, You can't really go wrong with either. There's a lot of positive feedback on Seagate's portable HDDs.

How does the RMA work? I just need storage primarily for the kids stuff & if it fails, I would rather cop it and destroy it rather than send it back to some tech who may have been the basis for a Criminal Minds story…..a bit far fetched but you can't be too careful these days.

The slim seagates for a bit more work in ps4. They're $99usd but I was so surprised at the size.

I do usually prefer wd but the slim was a dealbreaker for me.

Just wish local was at this price.

  • Any idea what drive they have in these things? I need a 9.5mm or less drive for a media player I'm purchasing

    • +1

Pretty sure these have a 15mm drive as the spinpoint M9T is the only 2tb 9.5mm drive at the moment. They are definitely found inside a seagate backup plus and easy to take out (done it myself).

      • Thank you, now to look for one of those

  • +1

Never had an issue with my WD,but the reviews on Seagate products ate iffy. I ended up buying a 4th, as I download to much and now I have to consider another 2tb at least lol. I HAVE ONE OF THESE, NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES, HIGHLY recommend.

  • What speed are these drives? Looking for a portable 7200 drive to use as an external for the Xbox One.

    • +1

Just keep in mind that it is not just the spin speed of a drive that makes it fast. I read that some 5400 rpm drives are as fast, if not faster than some 7200 rpm drives.

I was looking for one of these. Thanks Op!

  • when does this deal end??
