Two of mine have finally broken after three years of regular use. Pretty good for the $9 each I paid for them back in 2011. At a little over $7 each here, it's even better value.

How sturdy are these in the arches?

i bought these on one of the previous deals after seeing how much ozbargainers like this deal. I have to say i was quite disappointed - the umbrella spokes snapped after my first use. For what appeared to be bamboo, this was quite underwhelming.
I have 3, sturdy umbrellas and a good size.
I have one last unit from the original Woodworm deal back when they were still made from aluminium. The plastic ones bought from a subsequent deal are a lot bulkier and I do not like them as much.

Both are double canopy and fibre glass shaft.how does better construction stop you from losing them?
I think it's a good sign that you need replacements when you lose them - not when they break :)

Had my first Woodworm break on me on Monday. Gust of wind tore the little stitches on all but 2 of the supports so i was just left flapping in the wind and rain.
