  • Nice find, only problem is the maps are from 2007. I use a GPS with maps from 2007 (R15 though) and it still works flawlessly today, but if there's been a lot of construction where you travel recently it can definitely come in handy having newer maps.

EDIT: Turns out it's the 2009 maps

  • Great find!

I read a review from a USA site which stated that the package comes with a 4x50 MosFET amplifier that acts as a gateway between the factory audio system and the F500BT.

Rang Pioneer sale support and questioned them about this sale unit. They said the package retails with the amp for $999 and the sale item does not come with the amp. To buy the amp its a extra $100 on top of the sale price. Also quistioned them about the map version and was told its the 2009 maps.

    • Great to hear then, was worried it was the older ones.

    • i alaso asked the same questions.
For the amplifier , i got the same response and they said it would also be available in the clearence centre next week.

However for the map, i asked if it is the 2009 V15 map compatible with SUNA traffic system, and they said currently its on V14, which I thought is only 2008? or is there a V14 2009 map?

  • OK, I bought this item and it arrived today, only to find that it cannot be integrated with the car stereo because the amp (NDG500) was not included. I rang Pioneer who said that the amp has been discontinued. I asked them why it wasn't included, or why the info (the fact that you NEED the amp to connect the Nav System to the car stereo) is omitted on the product description page; I think most people that reads the F500BT prod description page would think that "hmm, if I bought this then I can play the music back into my car stereo!". There is no "NEEDS OPTIONAL ND-G500 AMP FOR STEREO INTEGRATION" on the F500BT's page at all!

EDIT: No, I didn't buy the item after reading that that it doesn't come with the amp…bought it when I saw the DVDRW sale without reading this tread…

  • When they said the amp was discontinued, did they also say if it was still available to buy? I remember the sales person on the phone stated that they still had stock of the amp and it was $100.

what map version did you get?

  • the NDG500 AMP is now available for $99 on the website.

  • They said it'd be available next week (which is now) on their clearance centre. I kicked up a stink and they gave one to me for $77.00…

I noticed they've now amended their adverts…about time!

  • oh and mine shipped with V14 map but I was eligible for the free map upgrade (it mentioned it on my unit's packaging).
