  If you want a cheap Windows tablet, the Acer W3-810 for $149 after CB is not bad if you can live with the poor display & last gen dual core Atom to save $50. Otherwise the Toshiba Encore at the current price is the pick of the bunch (NB: lowest was previously $200).

      What type of tab are you looking for? What are looking to use it for? Loyal to any one ecosystem (iOS, Windows, Android)? Lastly, budget?

        im looking for something upto $400. wouldnt mind any OS. I was going to get nexus but no expandable was a big turn off. a lot of the samsung has really bad screen resolution as well.

        @AeyJey: yea, generally october period is when google release devices which is why I'm sort of hesitating although I haven't read anything.

        16gb will give you something like 14gb free? This is just my guess so don't quote me on it. Definitely too less if you plan on storing movies.

  Seems the processing power of the CPU on the P3 is similar to the Encore. Comparison.

  Pros of P3: Larger display, more storage (60gb vs 32gb), full size USB3 port, detachable keyboard (not sure if included).
  Pros of Encore: More portable & lighter weight, much longer battery life.

  Don't get the encore, it has bugs in firmware and Toshiba is not fixing it since they were known for months:
  Original firmware has issues with camera then the update that fix it produce following bugs:
  The backlight of LCD fail to work, brightness is fixed to rather bright.
  Charger may not charge if the tablet auto shut down after a long standby drain the battery
  Wifi connection is bad at times can completely drop out

  Sad to see Toshiba quality drop like this.
