Well shit, it's a golden torch..

    bought one LOL

    • Nothing wrong with a bit of bling!

Note, this one needs 14500 battery, not AA.

    • Are you sure, I have similar torches of this type that work quite well on on AA.

Quite possibly it has a boost driver, even though the specs don't mention it, but you should not assume it, and of course it will not be as bright.

Probably not a real Cree (Chinese "Cree"?) as they do not show image of emitter or say what model/bin it is.
I've received some utter junk from T-mart before.

    • Clee?

Why the cowardly negs? If it really is an Xp-e then great - would like to know. An informative response would be welcome.

You have to be kidding - a neg because you assume something from a price on a loss leader? So what if they havent advertised binning, so what if it is made in Cree's China factory - that doesnt make itr any less a cree. Sure, its not a t6 or u2 - but it doesnt claim to be ffs - it claims 180 lumens - around q5 territory. It doesnt claim to be an XP-E, it could well be a cheaper XT-E - you dont have a clue.
Cowardly is slandering a business on a guess

        • It was more than a guess. The inaccurate use of the word "Cree" has become so common that genuine Chinese sellers will go to some effort to distinguish themselves. Notably by showing close-up photos of the emitter.

And I hope that we all know the lumen claims are false. Even for a genuine Cree, the lumen claims are typically based on the theoretical limit of the emitter, not the actual torch.
