I swear this company is so dodgy.

They write up countless fake reviews for themselves: http://estorereview.com.au/s/2757/Digital-World-International-(DWI-Cameras) and http://www.productreview.com.au/p/digital-world-internationa… (notice how 5-star reviewers have only written one review and that it happens to be a glowing review for DWI)

Of course I am just assuming they're fake due to the HIGH volume of reviews flowing in written by 'people' with stupid profile pics and generic names.

    Not gonna risk it.

That being said, have people had good experiences with DWI?

Never purchased a phone from them, but I've bought $20k+ worth of SLR/lenses over the past 3-4 years, without any issues.

All arrived in Perth within 3-4 days of ordering, shipped using FedEx.

      Dear customer,

Thank you very much for your valuable feedback.
Speaking as from DWI, we never write fake reviews about ourselves on various review website.
We have more than 5000 orders to handle within a month and we do appreciate customers to review us to share their experience to shop with us.
DWI is also a popular store in Australia for electronic with competitive price.
If you would like to know more about us, please check this link :

Once again, thank you for your valuable feedback.

      • Hi, Rep. Any specials on headphones?

      • I am not convinced, DWI.
In the eStoreReview link I provided, on the right hand side in a green box, the words "This page is actively monitored by Store Representatives" are present. I'm an active user of this site and those words means representatives from the store have written 5-star reviews for their business despite getting many shitty 1-star ratings (e.g. with Bloomex the online flower SCAM company - http://estorereview.com.au/s/5048/Bloomex)

        SERIOUSLY. http://estorereview.com.au/s/2757/Digital-World-International-(DWI-Cameras) READ THOSE REVIEWS.

        E.g.
        Date Posted: 23/08/2014
        Ordered On: 23/08/2014

        Overall Rating 5/5
        Service: 5/5
        Shipping: 5/5
        Pricing: 5/5
        Warranty: 5/5
Harry_Pham would shop at Digital World International (DWI Cameras) again.
        Best Deal+delivery
Ordered Asus Zenfone5 on Friday afternoon. Received it on Monday late-afternoon (free Std mail with Tolls = 4days) and price is cheapest online $195.

Have searched for items i want during 4 years times, and back to DWI to get those (i.e. Moto tablet 10", Sony 35mm DSLR, Pentax lens, Canon EOS1100 package, Hoya filters…)for best delivery and service.

^ Wrong order date, sounds like spam, review not articulate nor helpful.

These reviews are definitely from DWI's behalf.

        • Dear Customer,
Thank you and you are entitled for your own opinion.
However, on behalf of DWI, WE NEVER post fake reviews about DWI in any website.
We had management changes last year and reputation grow with improved customer services.
Furthermore, we never can control what customer is reviewing us as in various website such as e-store review.
The words "This page is actively monitored by Store Representatives" in e-store review, only means we have account to check customers' reviews and reply as a representative which is pretty much similar function here in OzBargain to tick "I am associated with DWI" when replying.
Once again, we have to clarify Digital World International NEVER post fake review on internet.
          Thanks
          Regards,
          Enrique

        • @DWI-Admin:

Thanks for clarifying, I will give you the benefit of the doubt since other Ozbargainers have had good experiences. All the best with your business.

I bought a new phone from them only two weeks ago. It was the best price around with free shipping - ordered on Friday, arrived on Monday.
I've got no complaints, and would be quite happy to order from them again.

Purchased a Galaxy Tab Pro from them without any dramas and it arrived fairly quickly.

It is the only sale I have ever had with them though, so take that for what it's worth.

May want to note that they only have the Silver version available too.

  • Still a lot for 2 years old tech and in the most unpopular colour. Good phone if you like 4" screens I guess but I suggest holding out until September 9th and getting the 5c even cheaper.

  • I bought a Motorola from them a few years back, shipping was a bit slow. Whilst I found the product OK, I somehow felt it was not the same phone you would get if you bought it from a brick and mortar store in Australia with Australian warranty

  • I have never bought a new phone before (always been second hand). I am looking at the HTC one m8. If I buy it and I crack the screen will it be covered by HTC warranty? What are my best options to safeguard against this?

    • With the massive screen size of today's smartphones you can never be 100% sure. Hitting the ground in awkward angles will break the screen. If you drop your phones a lot, an armor type case is your best bet. People have been recommending tempered glass screen guards but again, there is always that awkward bump that will break it. I remember reading about a note 3 with tempered glass that the guy took it out of his pocket and saw the screen shattered and the screen protector intact.

    • Not sure why cracking your screen should be covered under warranty

      • Well HTC offered to replace the screen for free no questions asked if it was broken in the first 6 months. I think it was only for the usa though. Can't find any info on it in Australia.
Can you purchase phone insurance separately for outright phones?

        • Only ever seen the ability to purchase such insurance with Apple.
