Chromecast - $39.20 in Store at JB after Rebate ($50 Gift Card Purchase Required)

160

Not the cheapest but still pretty decent, only downside is having to actually spend the initial $50, however, if you are going to purchase other stuff from JB it doesn't really matter.

Purchase the $50 gift card, get 20% off your next purchase. Use the gift card and have $10.80 left over to spend on whatever else.

Cheers

how is it a bargain if I have to spend $50 upfront in order to get the discount?
agree wait for another DSE sale or just get it from eBay

  • Trying to get on the Chromecast bandwagon?

I bought it from DSE last sale. Cost me around $34. Not happy with it. Should've spent more and gotten a proper media streaming device.

    Clearly not recommended.

    • is this cause you don't know how to fully use it properly or that you never really understood what it did in the first place kinda thing?

Cuase for what it's ment to do it does it perfectly.

It clearly still has limited functionality, but what it does support (YouTube, Drive etc.) works very well.

    • I am using mine to stream my Plex server from my Time Capsule. I can display all my media using my iphone, ipad and any computer as a remote control.

Very easy to set up and no cost (Unless you buy the app which I did for less than $10).

Chromecast is very easy to use.

  • "Purchase the $50 gift card, get 20% off your next purchase"
Surely the better deal would be on something more expensive that either a) doesn't usually get discounted by 20% or B) you add this onto. So for example a expensive TV or Apple laptop.
Unless their is a limitation on the useage.

    • It's max $20 discount for a $100 worth of purchase. Not that exciting a discount if you're getting a TV or Laptop.

<insert comment about having 8 of these already and just bought another one but don't know why>

  • Can some explain what this can do?

  • I bought 2 from Amazon last week for $34.99US. I have a Netflix account which is the reason I bought them from the US. Unfortunately the Aussie Chromecast doesn't have Netflix yet which is a shame. Can't wait to get them!!
