  • Quick question. I know PS+ is worth it, as I have AU PS+, however seeing as my PS3 died and I only have a PS4 and PSV now (only one memory card so it has to stay on AU PSN), and mostly don't buy digital games so I only grab the PS+ Monthly Free ones, how useful would this be to get? Since I think there usually isn't that great a difference between the games PS4 gets each month from the AU PS+?
    I'm tempted, just not 100% sure =/

    • -1

you know ps+ is requiered for online gameplay on ps4 right?

      • As I said, I have AU PS+, so I am all set in that regard.

        • +3

I wouldn't bother…both AUS and US PSN get the same games eventually.

        • +1

          @DarKBlooD:

US PSN have totally different content in their PS store. New release games are around $49USD in comparison to $99AUD. Monthly free games are different too. The whole PS store has an entire different menu which houses triple, if not double the amount of content in AU store.

Given that, you can't use an AU PS+ redeem code for an US account and you'll need a separate US PSN account.

        • @DarKBlooD: keep paying big bucks then, for not bothering.

        • +3

          @DarKBlooD:

          Both aruguments are right.

US PS+ Games are normally 1 month behind AU PS+ (with a few discrepancies here and there)

US PSN is cheaper all round for digital games

        • +1

          @xenoic:

I'm referring to the free games, eventually we all get the same games.

        • @DarKBlooD:

BUT the US site is MUCH cheaper to buy games, if and when you decide to do that (yes, I know you cannot do it now).

        • @gizmomelb:

Realise that but the original poster was referring the free games so that's what i commented on.

        • @DarKBlooD:

Most of the time US PSN offers are better than AU PSN. Also some promotions only appear on US PSN and prices are generally cheaper.

        • +1

          @gizmomelb:

He said he doesn't buy DLG games though, so its a moot point.

As its been mentioned, the US store gets the same 'free' games usually a month behind (ome or two small games might differ).
So really there is no advantage for Sysalem who posed the original question
'Is it useful to grab a US membership when he already has an AU one?'

So the answer is no, there is no advantage to a US membership in this instance.

        • +3

          @DarKBlooD:

Correct, more so these days. You can see a complete history of the "free" games for both territories side by side with my spreadsheet - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmRRDLosxQLIdGJ…

    • I have both, purely for the sales on US store. I have bought several games that had an extra 50% off for Plus members there. I did buy my sub for US$30 though and will again next time.

      • Did you need to buy PSN cards from Amazon for the US store?

        • To get credit to buy games? Yes, that or a US PayPal. Amazon always gives me the codes instantly so I've been happy to use that, I sometimes have a few extra bucks in my PayPal though so it is handy to use that as well.

        • @Where's_That_Cake:

That's cool! I've never been able to set up US PayPal, doesn't it require a US based Credit Card? I've been using Amazon too but using PayPal would be great because it's like a one-click purchase with the new PS Store update.

        • @xenoic: My wife set ours up, she needed no cc.

        • @Where's_That_Cake:
Could she give me some tips on how to set it up please? Greatly appreciated!!

    • +2

Save your money and keep the aussie Ps+ . You don't buy digital games, nor do I, seems that is the only thing the Us one is better at - better online prices.

      • +1

or Save your money and get the US one because it's only $50 a year instead of $70?

  • That's how it works.

  • Is it worth getting this alongside Aus PS+? Or can I take this instead of Aus and play online?

  • Is this a discounted price? Amazon has it for $49.99

  • -1

how is this bargain? PSN Plus US has always been $49.99

    • +5

maybe it is because this is AUD while 49.99 is in USD? 10% off?

    • not true.. usually over Cyber weekend PSN+ drops down to about $30 USD

  • Black Friday is in a few months, lady year you could get 12 months US PSN for $30. I would wait it out.

    • November 28

      101 days away

      • Its Spring anyway, time to go outside :)

  • +1

black friday deals is where its at. wait for it.

    • How will we access black Friday deals? Or you mean US ebay sellers will have sale on eBay aswell?

      • amazon.

  • So can i buy this to play online game with my PS4 in Aust?

  • If someone can please confirm this, if I buy 2x12mnth psn+ and redeem, does it stack and make my psn+ for two years?

    • +2

      It does stack.

Q: If I purchase more time, or get any voucher codes for additional time on my PS Plus subscription, will it stack ont op of my existing time remaining?

A: Yes. You can purchase, or 'stack', more time to your Plus membership at any time. There ARE voucher codes we use for promotional purposes that do NOT stack, but these are fairly rare and are used only at certain on-location events

  • How do you go about buying it if at checkout it says to add a US address? Did you contact the seller first?

    • +1

Went to contact him about this and saw:

      "neogames : Hi,
      .
CONTACT US ONLY AT: [email protected]
YOU WILL GET A BIG DISCOUNT !
      .
NOTE: PLEASE INCLUDE IN YOUR MESSAGE EXACT EBAY ITEM NUMBER (located under my username, on the item page)!
      .
THANK YOU FOR YOUR BEST TIME!"

I've emailed to see what this "big discount" is.

      • +1

        Any reply yet?

        • Nope :/

    • I've emailed him 3 times now over the last few days without a response. :S

  • +1

    So I've just purchased a PS4.
I have a PS3 and AU PSN id but have only bought a couple games digitally and haven't added my mates.

What's the best way to get access to cheaper US games and still be able to play online with Aussie mates?
I'm not attached to my AU PSN really.

  • +1

    Cheers mate

Code was NOT sent to my ebay Messages. It was just shipped to the US address I put in. o.O

    • lol, not good.

    • Have you contacted them ?

  • I notice in the feedback @eBay that people are buying it for US$39. Would be nice to know how. Haven't found a code yet.
Also waiting on a reply like Morien

  • I just received an email from NeoGames and they said that the subscription was actually a card and that it was shipped to the US address that I provided. I used a fake one. Far out. Should've been warned us, OP.

    • +1

        • 10 mins, must be when he was checking his emails, because i sent few in short time and he replied to all
