      Maybe to make you buy a ps4? And also possibly a Sony TV so you have a matching set. Some people do have a little bit of ocd with that kind of thing.

    Is the 4g Galaxy Tab 4 a good deal? My mother has just asked me to find a good deal for a 10" tablet, for her partner to play games on. I am a little out of the loop regarding tablets, and all of these deals lately are making it harder… Cheers guys.

        Yeah I just realised I have no idea what games he plays. I've just texted them to find out. Pretty sure it's RPG's and tower defence-type games. Apart from that, he might read a few ebooks, but that's about it. Just needs to run decent games, have a micro sd card slot if 16gb, be 10" and 3G/LTE-capable. As cheap as possible, they're terrible with money, so really shouldn't be buying this anyway, but my mother was insistent…

        Reading up over on WP to get some ideas, but any advice here would be great too!

          Sweet, well first off I would point to to read the reviews of the tab4 on AndroidPolice.

          I'll go through some key points here:

          1) The screen on the tab4 is very basic (especially the 10.1") which should have at least 2560res. I would say any need for a great screen, stay away from this. ALTHOUGH, have a look yourself in person as some people do not mind as much.

          2) 1.5gb RAM is very very low end for a tablet with Touchwiz. I would expect lag and more slow downs as time progesses.

          3) Cameras on this are quite bad (horrible) but that is dependant on user.

          In any case, I would point you to the Tab s but requiring 3G/4G would bring the price up quite a bit.
          Note the price of the TabS 10.5 4G during tomorrow's DSE eBay 20%

          I think the best option would be to wait until the next flow of tablets arrive (Nexus line).

          One last question, does it need to be Australian stock?

          Screen res and such doesn't matter for them, they would be happy with anything, I think. I don't think a bit of lag here and there will bother him at all. Noticeable lag and stuttering would of course be undesirable. I don't think he uses the camera on his S4, so doubt he'd use it on the tablet :)

          The TabS seems like overkill for him, but I'll definitely keep it in mind tomorrow. Unfortunately, his birthday is at the start of September, so I've got a limited time frame.

          Nah, grey imports would be fine. I'd prefer to buy from an Aus retailer, just to keep things simple for them in case something went wrong, but either way.

          @stig: it's fine for my needs I play clash of clans and love some strategy games and it's been awesome. Screen could be better but it's the same resolution as the tab 4 so unless you want full HD this is fine.
          I haven't play games like modern combat 5 which is very intensive game. So cannot comment on that

      Screenshot for posterity because I have a funny feeling no Fifa14 will be turning up with the soundbars.

      I can confirmed FIFA 14 PS4 game is in the box because I bought one yesterday.

      Sound quality is better than I expected and Bluetooth function is a bonus.

      You will not find better value and quality soundbar anywhere at this price.

          Yes, sound quality is much better than Philips HTL2150. I compared them side by side.

          Sony win hands down (at least to me )

          If you want more power (300w), you can get SONY HT-CT370 with $60 off (I am sorry ,I have no idea about the final price) warehouse price at Costco until tomorrow.

          With the Philips unit? Not that I have noticed. I have an Apple TV connected and have not noticed anything unusual. I have connected it to the TV too and all seemed to be fine.

    Even if you are travelling overseas the Kindle with 3G isn't necessary. There's wifi in a lot of places! Also, locally there are a lot of Wifi hotspots so save some money and get the Wifi-only version. If for whatever reason you're on a train and want to buy a book, just set up your phone as a Wifi hotspot and use its 3G connection.

    Just about bought this Sony Soundbar thinking it was the HTCT260H (which I already own). Luckily I double checked. If HDMI or wireless sub are important to you, then give it a miss, otherwise, it's a bloody awesome soundbar and sub for the price!

      If you really want white it will probably be the cheapest as TRENT86 stated for a few weeks, DSE always have sales so it will more than likely come down again in the near future, possibly cheaper.

      You could always buy the console for $399 (also 2% cash back) and the game for ~$55. That's what I did but then again I don't care about the colour, as others might!
