This is one big black ugly looking charging station but its super cheap. I just bought one from DSE for $5, they retail for $44.99 on the manufacturers website (http://www.idaptweb.com/collections/universal-charger/produc…).

It comes with the following connections: - 1x iPhone 5, 1x iPhone 4, 2x microUSB, 1x miniUSB. It chargers four devices at once and you can swap the charging tips. From the manufacturer's website:

EDIT: If you feel like destroying the planet or buying these out of stock you could buy a second station just for the three tips on top. Ie I just bought a second iPhone 5 tip for $5 but I could have (or should have) bought a second station for the interchangeable tips but i thought what a waste. But the option is there. Hope that makes sense

    Apparently these might be faulty or something according to reviews on amazon. The USB port can also fail. Even some blogs dedicated to phones are faulting the tip charging system.

    Oh well, it was only $5, it will make a nice "big" doorstop once it dies.

    Read a review on the i1 eco charger. Long story short, not a good travel, home or car (has a 12v car port) charger with only 2 charging ports for its size. The el cheapo double usb car adaptors from china/ebay works well for that.
    Does come with 3 charging tips though (I guess it would be the I4, I5 and microusb), so buy it only for that reason

          how can you let your phone stand on the usb port alone, there is nothing in the dock to lean your phone on. Sure, give to others to damage their valuable items

          Lol, you can say that about anything. I've seen people damage their USB port on their phone with their normal plug in charger.

          Drop + Plugged in = worse damage than using Idapt I4.

          This is sitting there for hours at a time on its jack. A soldered jack like this was never intended to take the weight of the device. In most cases it will be soldered directly to the board. It just sits there like a giant lever waiting to be bumped. Even a small whack could cause it to damage the jack or board due to leverage. $800 phone ruined by $5 charger.

          A1 crap design.

      and you could have given the $10 to charity… one review on amazon reads "the product turned out to be poorly manufactured… the charging jack on my Nexus became faulty and now I am unable to charge it with my original charger. The Nexus had been problem-free since I bought it in February, but one month's use on this dock apparently messed up the jack"

    I got 2, but called to cancel the order not because it was an impulse purchase, but of fear I would break my devices charging ports because of the way the devices' weight would rest while charging on the dock.

      Be pretty easy to use stick on vecro strips with a support to rest the device on if you are worried.

    In my experience it seems more likely to damage the charging plug rather than the charging slot. I've had a few cables where the charging plug was bent out of shape (dropping, hitting accidentally or pushed against something), the phones worked fine with a new cable.

    Guess it does depend if the plug is stronger than the slot.

    Unless you're using older phones I wouldn't be bothering with this. 1A is too slow for most new devices. No matter how cheap something is, a waste of space is still a waste of space.

    I recently bought the Anker 40w 5 port charger, and couldn't be happier. Solidly built and will charge at high speed. With standard USB outputs I can just change the cables as necessary. Great for travelling too.

      for me, i use on PS4, PS3 controllers & ps vita 2000 charging…… so both micro and mini will be useful. iphone 5 or lightning i plan on usb charge port instead, but if tip comes with lightning one then i may use as it's not heavy.

    Do not waste your money on this, even for $5. I charged a phablet and it bent the micro pins backwards because it couldn't support the weight and now the tip is useless. It only comes with one micro usb tip.

    I've got the bigger one and it works ok. Charging power is not high - takes a while to charge compared to my factory charger (Galaxy Note II). Same for the USB slot. Have to take the phone out of its case to plug it in, but it sits there ok. Just put it somewhere you wont knock it. The mounts do swing back and forward a bit (to allow for phone movement). The smaller unit would be fine - in fact I reckon better as it takes up less room and you're unlikely to need more than it can supply anyway (just get two if you want more slotys then the charger can cope with it).

    Hey guys, just got mine just then. No lightning plug as my last edit states but great value for $5! I can charge go pro style action camera, wireless hdd, iPhone 4 and old iPod nano, telstra wireless 3g and lots of things.

    But guess what, my separate buy of the lightning tip did not get sent and I called DSE. Guess what they told me, 'Sorry sir (in best fake American accent), but that tip isn't in stock now and we don't know when it will.' Thanks Dick.

      Plenty of people are selling there's due to lack of iPhone5 adapter! (Although you can easily plug into USB). So it won't be too hard for you to grab one! I'm definitely keeping on of mine as it'll be for an S4, I4 and iPad… But I might get rid of the other if I find that it won't be any good for where I planned on having it! (Mrs has i5)

        I also wanted it for my iphone 5 but i'm definitely keeping mine for work because of the quick charge usb port and the ability to charge colleagues phones. FYI the charging tips don't swivel and ( lucky me) my second phone HTC 8x faces the wall while charging :(

    Not a bad looking unit sitting on the bench top. The S4 and i4 are sitting upright in it quite nicely.
    I guess there's always the chance you could break the tips… so I guess that rules out throwing tennis balls at it!!!

        Because part of the original posting had the + model listed… which does include the i5 tip!
        Unfortunately most had purchased these before realising it didn't come with it, and/or like myself, just thought bugger it I'll use what's there and plug in a lightning USB cable!!!
