For those who don't know, two games are released as a free purchase & download for Xbox 360 (plus recently one or two each month for the Xbox One) if you have a Gold account. Not sure that many are worth much more than free, but some have been good. Oh, and if you, like me, don't have an Xbox One then just sign into the xbox website and purchase the Xbox One game - and it should be there to download in the future if you ever buy an Xbox One.
So, the membership gives you three or so games each month - so the 13 month membership means maybe 40 or so games - about $1 per game. Maybe $2 if you assume half of them are rubbish. Plus of course you get whatever else gold membership gives you like…. ummmm…. I don't know…. stuff… actually some selected discounted games like FIFA 2014 Brazil for $24 rather than $80 at the moment….
Note though that the xbone games will only still be there while your gold membership is current, not owned like the x360 games.
Dang it. Didn't realise that - that sucks. Ah well. Another reason not to bother getting a One then! ;-)
If your gold membership lapses and you renew it later you still have access to the games 'purchased' earlier though.

Yes, you will just get sent the code to redeem via the dashboard on your box.
