Neither of my 2 local stores had stock. The first store said they had 3 to start with and were sold within minutes,they took my name and number and said they would call when they got more in. The second said they sold out and no raincheck

Just grabbed two modems.over the counter no id no forms like buying chewing gum. Working away so cheap data is good data.
Bought the modem, I asked if ID was needed, lady said no. Too easy.

Checked a few Brisbane stores - no to raincheck, some are expecting stock in few days.
Using data SIM on 4G (in spare $79 Huawei G526) - works well. (Did free SIM to micro-SIM swap at Vodafone store.) No expiry date.
Happy days. Coles ARE restocking. So they are out there!
There were umm… 4 left at Chermside that had arrived today. (My 4th Coles store of the day by bus.) No stock now. She just said I have 4 left - today's magic number. Took about 4 minutes. No ID check, and got 4(+1)% off with ING PayWave.
What a day… also 4 FREE Movenpick icecreams, FREE Bánh Xèo at Rolld, now off to a FREE movie.
Realised I was a bit too excited & had left out an important detail - was posting about the $9 USB modem with 3GB. Only want it for the data SIM. Forgot about this deal until this morning & then read the out of stock posts! So happy to be lucky.
Activated a 3 year old Vodafone DATA SIM last week after swapping for the Micro-SIM - so these SIMs do last.
Burnside SA Coles asked for ID check for modem.
I got one of these to do a test run with VF internet access, in my area and am amazed that it is actually soooo much better than both Telstra and Optus! Actually, I think I'm still in shock! South Morang VIC is usually like a dead zone, during the evenings and weekends!

Yes, many Southside Brisbane stores said today was the day for fresh stock. Some northside stores restocked Friday as I posted.
Got SMS after I tried to unlock on Vodafone site - Vodafone says modem is not locked to their network & try another network's SIM to confirm. BARGAIN :-)

There were still quite a few $9 USB for sale tonight at some Brisbane stores.
With an unlocked modem (according to Vodafone) & 3GB Data SIM with no expiry, surprised it was not OzBargained at $9.
So when you plug in dongle, install software, and are redirected to vodafone site.. no-one is having trouble registering.. entering details like id #'s etc.. all goes through without a hitch?
I tried first time around and got an error.. maybe that was just a system issue?
Yeah I would try again a day later and if that does not work try calling them to register it :)
sim is in seperate card board envolope, you have to take back off usb modem and insert sim to use. also has space for micro sdcard. its full size sim.
