  This may sound stupid but this is actually my first time trying to buy a CD key online.
  Can I pay and download later? Will the CD key expire? As there is less than 10% internet quota left for this month. :(
  Also, can I play this on both my mac and windows? Thank you.

    re can you play this on both your Mac and Windows, look on the Steam store page for Civ V. Each game has little icons to show if it is Windows, Mac, Linux etc.

    Just buy the key, then activate on Steam.
    When it prompts you to install, click close, and the game will be added to your account permanently.
    Steam allows you to download games as many times as you want, onto all compatible devices. Civ V is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux.

    If you're almost out of quota anyway, I would hold off and buy the complete edition when it goes on sale. There's not much on Steam workshop that works with just the base game, and the expansions add an awful lot of depth to the experience. If you're playing with others, vanilla Civ can also lead to compatibility issues.

  Tbh, although this is a good price for vanilla Civ 5, it's way better value to just wait for the Complete Edition to go on sale.

  I'd definitely get both expansion packs. Adds a lot more to the game.
