We only offer Australian stock, if you purchase thorough B&H with this link your warranty won't be valid in Australia. Besides, we're cheaper after shipping and you'll get it far quicker ;)
you are cheaper now because you reduced the price by further $10 after it was mentioned. Still deal is a deal, so +1 from me :D
That's not local stock and its more expensive…
check what? are you store Rep #2?
If only this was the price for the blackmagic 4k :D
cheaper here(with free shipping) unless in Brisbane..

What about if you bought one a week ago from yourselves at the full price?
Any chance of easing the pain, rep?Send me an email to [email protected] I'll see what we can do.
Sigh, if only it was e-mount so I could use my existing EF speedbooster!
tempted…
what is good about this camera?
It lets you make commercial quality footage without being 'rich'
If everyone is dropping their price of this camera…. does that make it not a bargain anymore… ?
Who else is selling this for $525?
True.. It looks like everyone is dropping the price differently. So technically this one is still the cheapest bargain.
Last time I checked rumours are BM are phasing this camera out. CameraPro rep, have you heard the same?
Unfortunately we don't get given any additional information about product life-cycles but I'd guess this still be a current model for a least the next few months, at least until Photokina.
What's this like compare to a 5D mk iii?
5D is a digital camera with video recording
This is a professional video recording device albeit crippled. Cannot take photos. barely records but the footage is excellent for use in post.
is this camera more for video then still images?
Definitely. In fact it's so video-oriented that it can't even take stills. :)
I'm going to be blunt, if you are asking questions about this camera, it probably isn't for you.
Basically you will need -
Speedbooster
Lenses
Fast high capacity SD cards (Extreme Pro, else dropped frames)
External recording device
External battery pack, heaps of batteries
A rig of some sortWhilst the initial cost might seem low, if you're not a professional or aspiring videographer, this isn't really for you. But if you want to learn more about colour grading etc perhaps this is a easy entry level camera for you to learn with.
Note: Doesn't come with the full version of Davinci Resolve, only the lite version. But good to start off from.
Any questions let me know, happy to answer.
For anyone looking into this camera, this is absolutely correct. Despite its size this is not a casual video camera, it's designed for the high-end enthusiast and professional market and requires generally more supplementary gear and knowledge to operate. Having said that, with the know-how you can produce some absolutely stunning results.
Update 25/7/14: More stock expected early to mid August to full any backorders and limited new orders for this product. Due to very high demand we recommend ordering early to avoid disappointment.
Hey guys,
Any updates on ETA on the backorder/new order shipment?
Many thanks
