Hi rep, any deal for the Lumia 930 yet? I see it's in stock at the moment.

  • +2

it was around ~$330 on ebay %20 deal but for grey stock

    • Yes, but wasn't AU spec.

      • is there any differences in the spec between the AU and grey stock?
I thought only the adapter and the warranty are different from each other

        • +13

          Hi msmhw

AC adapter and warranty are biggest issue, also 10% different in GST if you can get it claim back from business or TRS.

        • +1

          @mobileciti:
Thanks +ve for me. Great rep

        • +5

          @msmhw:

and also thanks for support "AU Local business"!! :)

        • -2

Not really remember the RAZR deal? Ozbargainers seem to have selective memories and only take into account personal experience.

        • @mobileciti: Rep, what you mentioned are not spec.

  • +4

    Good price for Aus stock.

  • Any 32GB in stock?

  • +2

Hi Rep, any deal on the 32GB version? I'm on the look out for a new smartphone, but 16GB won't cut it for me.

    • Hi FabMan

we only have 16GB at moment. no ETA for 32GB

      • How about a 16gb white?

        • sorry, we don't have 16GB White. only black at moment.

      • Hi Rep,

Do you know if the DT-910 will work with N7 2013? Also, would you happen to have stock instore?

        Cheers

  • what is your return policy on dead pixels?

    • DOA 14 Days

      • dead pixel(s)?

        • Yes for visible dead pixel(s)

        • +6

          @mobileciti:

Does the buyer pay for the return shipping? or will you provide the return label?

        • @PissLUR: i wonder this too

        • +1

          @rocknrolla1102:
No I don't think so.. I had an issue with my HTC which I bought from them and they ask me to cover the cost of return to Sydney to fix it
while Kogan its Gray import they send you return label and no worry..
I don't really care about Au stock if not bought from local store!

        • +1

          @petros0:
yeah thats what I thought. they wouldnt cover the return postage.

I have purchased from Google Play Store at least 6 of the Nexus 5 and had 3 of them with dead pixel(s).

    • +1

Doesn't matter what their policy is. Australian Consumer Law say goods must be free from defects. http://www.accc.gov.au/publications/consumer-guarantees-repa…

They are also responsible for consequential loss. eg. posting it back. If returning the goods back would be unreasonable, then they must pick it up. eg. bulky or expensive.

  • Any cheaper for the HTC one m7 64gb in black can you do it for $450

  • Temptations Temptations! First it was the $399 Xperia Z Ultra, now this…must…hold…credit card in wallet

    PS Great price!

    • +2

      hi twister

this deal are selling fast, deal won't last long! :)

    • so you dont remember your Credit card numbers? must need to spend more.

  • Will you include an invoice inclusive of GST on it? This is for TRS claim purposes.

    • +1

Yes, all our transaction included GST invoice.

  • +1

How the battery of the nexus 5 guys? Can't pull the trigger because of that.

    • +4

I've had it for about 7 months. Great phone with a pretty crap battery. Unless you are a low to moderate phone user, you will be charging this puppy during the day.

      • Tks guys. Seem like worse than my Z1 battery. I think i can stand with the z1 screen lol

    • +1

average - nothing great, though not terrible.

      • +3

I have no issue. Far better than my S3 - mind you I don't bother with 4G.

        • +1

That's why. You disable or don't use 4G you will see a significant increase in battery.

    • +2

About 2hrs 40mins~ screen time until below 20% (with 4G)

      7-8 hours of on time.
I have two Google accounts (personal and uni) plus widgets so lighter users will get more.

      Running stock 4.4.4

      • About 2hrs 40mins~ screen time until below 20% (with 4G)

That battery life is so bad! At least last 6hrs minimum & complement that with a powerbank.

Also no expandable storage is a deal breaker.

        • +1

Haha, I think I could get better if I didn't need two accounts and heaps of widgets.

It is possible to get 4 days if you're really light in usage and your apps don't cause wakelocks. I can leave my n5 overnight without 4G or WiFi and lose 0% over 10 hours.

        • +1

I can leave my n5 overnight without 4G or WiFi and lose 0% over 10 hours.

Well thats good to hear! Must go into a really deep sleep.

    • -4

Im a pretty light user and can get about 4-5 days on it if I'm lucky.

      • +8

        Not a chance.

        • +2

I'll believe 4 days; on wifi without interaction (overnight etc) I can get less than 1% drop per hour, which would get over 4 days at least. An unlikely scenario for myself but like he said - light user.

      • -2

As another person commented - looks like not possible! Am not even sure if it will last that long without any usage at all, considering either data or wifi will be on.
4 days means almost 100 hours. 1% per hour? How light can a user be :)
I have N5 - it lasts one day with light use!

      • +3

I have to laugh that this is somewhat heavily negged, as if it were completely outside the realm of possibility simply because it didn't conform with someone else's experience. I can get about 4 days out of mine with light usage. YMMV

        • -1

I thought the voting represented agreeing / disagreeing with the comment. It shows people reading the comment to take it with a pinch of salt.

        • +4

          @FabMan:

Even so, how can you disagree with someone else's experience? Pinch of salt, perhaps, but everyone is basically calling Benzened a complete liar because his/her experience didn't meet everyone else's expectation. Therefore, negs? Seems petty to call someone a liar because their experience didn't conform with the prevailing opinion.

        • @ProspectiveDarkness:

I don't think everyone is callling Benzened a liar, maybe 60% of the negs. The rest are just joining in on the neg bandwagon.

You have a point though, Benzened did get hit by a harsh 5 negs. While 3 people gave a positive vote, probably out of sympathy.

    • +2

Mine lasts a day easy with light to moderate use. I actually think battery life is OK, and the rest of the phone is fantastic, i.e I wouldn't let the battery stop me unless I was a heavy user day in day out.

    • -1

I agree, battery isn't great. With heavy use you will have to charge during the day. 4 days, not a chance.

There were some issues with Skype and other camera apps draining the battery, but that has been fixed with 4.4.4.

  • Is Nexus 5 your second generation with the bigger speaker cut hole? I heard that first gen had problem about sound quite low.

  • Hope this means Nexus 6 is due soon!

    • Oct or Nov, with android L - does not seem to be coming before that.

  • Hi rep, Can you please do international shipping(to NZ)? willing to pay for the extra.

  • -2

Mate just got the nexus 5 and have to say I wasn't that impressed . Feels very plasticky and light . The nexus 4 had a bit more heft to it and felt a lot better quality . Not to say this isn't a bargain , just be sure to get a decent protective case .

    • +1

The Nexus 4 however had a glass backing, which gave it some heft and a smoother, harder feeling back. However lots of people complained about the glass back breaking for various reasons, drops, rapid temp changes and ass-pressure. Ass pressure as in, putting phone in tight jeans pocket and then sitting down.

The Nexus 5 has a soft touch plastic backing which resolved customer's complaints about the nexus 4, which was the glass — too fragile, slippery, easy to pick up scratches.

      • +1

Mine completely smashed after about 3 weeks after dropping it about 30cm. Hit the corner, tiny scratch, completely destroyed screen with touch input munted. Not impressed.

My nexus 5 is fine though. Got a better case as well.

      • +6

Lolz - have not heard that terminology before.

        ass-pressure

        • +1

So you haven't seen any of the Emmy award winning series called FakeAgent?

    • +1

I disagree I like the phone much more than the N4. To me the fact that it's lighter is a positive and I have no issue with the materials (white version, no case).

  • +1

    Is this LTE 2300?

    • +2

It would have taken two clicks to find out for yourself, rather than the 18 key presses and a click to post this comment.

      • +1

Strange, last time I clicked on the specs I must have missed the relevant info.

For anyone wondering, yes it is TD-LTE 2300. Sweet as, thanks OP!

  • Contemplating an upgrade from N4 to 5, worth it?

    • Yes.

    • +5

No - might as well wait for the 'Nexus 6'

  • +3

I guess this mean nexus 6 is coming out?

  • +6

Why buy this when LG G2 32gb is <$400??

    Better spec
    Made by same company
    Larger screen similar foot print

only disadvantage would be the slow software update

    • +6

"only disadvantage would be the slow software update"

And that is exactly why I would go for a Nexus. The bloatware on all those 3rd party android builds is just…. A lot of people just want a clean android experience. And they want the my software updates when they come out. not 3 months later after they've even forgotten there was something to be excited about.

    • +7

G2 plus Cyanogenmod = Nexus 5 with better spec.

    • Link? Is it au stock ?

    • +1

Some people like smaller screens and lighter phones. Some people prefer the volume rocker on the side. Some people prefer not to have to mod their phone for the default android experience.

As for specs, they have the same processor running at the same speed, with the same GPU and the same amount of RAM.

But if you like bigger phones, the LG G2 is an amazing smartphone.

    • As already mentioned above, slow software updates, and after around 6 more months, no more. This N 5 should get updates for another 14 or so months. Another big plus is getting the major L upgrade within a couple of weeks of release later in the year, rather than waiting many months for that eagerly awaited update.

Any deals for the nexus 5 32gb?

I currently have a nexus 5 and it is my favorite phone yet! for anyone trying to decide, consider this..

    Pros:

    -Beautiful screen
    -Fast, never crashes on me
-Great size and feel (went up from a moto g 4.5" and didn't notice it to increase in size much at all - i have small hands so this is a big + for me!)

    Cons:
    - **This is one fragile phone! Seriously, it slipped out of my pocket while getting into the car, barely any fall at all and bam cracked screen. I dropped the moto g a few times the same way (i really should learn haha) and not a scratch! This is the biggest fault - Still usable but not cheap to replace ($200). I believe this is because the glass goes right to the edge.

-battery ok (need to charge every day)

-Default google launcher is horrible - get nova launcher (you will be a lot happier)

    • +2

-battery ok (need to charge every day)

There is no phone nowadays that doesn't need charging at least once a day is there?

      sigh I miss my 3210

      • G2 has one of, if not, THE largest batteries in a phone.

      • Note 3
        G3
        One plus one

        • Arguably none of the above are phones.. more Phablets..
Having said that, 2 years ago, the G2 would have been classified a small Phablet!

      • Chinese phones with big batteries that can last - THL 5000 and THL 4400.

      • Htc one max

    • People really should invest in a tempered glass screen protector. Dropped mine many times with no case and not a single issue on the screen.

  • Hi Rep,

Does this Nokia DT-910 work with Nexus 5?

    Thanks

    • Yes DT-910 work with Nexus 5, Tested!

      • Will it work with the Nexus 7 2013?

    • Naked yes. With some cases might not work.

      • Naked.

So the phone will only charge while you're naked?

  • iPhone is way better than this crap.

    JOKES!

    • +10

      Funny…

      JOKES!

  • Im looking to upgrade from my N4, so this is tempting but I think I will hold out for the Red Nexus 5. Great price though.

    • +5

Waited this long then I'd suggest to wait for N6 if interested in Nexus series. Should be out 3-4 months in I guess.

      • Probably a little optimistic on that front. If you have the patients then I'd say for sure wait for the N6. The Nexus line in phones I believe offer best value if you buy as soon as they are release. You could essentially buy a new nexus phone roughly every 12 month and resell your old one for minimal upgrade costs.

      • Except we don't know if the N6 would be as fantastic as the N5.

        • It'll more than likely be like the prev gens, current high end specs with a midrange prices. If you want flagship specs at midrange price point, nexus is usually the only option.

        • @Ronnnie: Agreed

  • +2

Tempted but my S3 is still going strong with Omega Rom

    hmmm

    • Tempted to load cyanogen over omega. Have you had any experience with both? If so, do you prefer omega?
