Free $250 DSE Gift Voucher & 2 months free access on 24 month Vodafone $70 Red plans

80

I know there's a lot of anti-Vodafone people out there but for those who use Voda, this is a good deal…

24 Months on the $70 Red Plan with a mobile phone included (no extra handset repayments). I got the Galaxy s5 - but most the major handsets like the iphone were also avaliable.

When signing with Voda instore and port your number across, you get two months of free access.

And at Dick Smith this weekend, you also get a $250 gift voucher for use at their stores.

I also got a couple of their overpriced accessories discounted but all in all, for those happy to stay with Vodafone - I think its a good deal.

  • valid from 10/7/2014 - 13/7/2014, so hurry up. last day to catch up

  • what if your still has A contract with voda

  • +2

If you work it out, its not too bad, take an S5 4G 16GB its $622 delivered at Kogan*, so that makes it:

    Total cost: $70 x 24 months = 1680
    Phone cost $622 = 622
    Two months free $70 x 2 = 140
    Dick smith voucher = 250
Total cost of plan without phone = 668

over 24 months that's $27.83, so it makes sense if your currently looking for a new phone and plan I guess

  • Looking on their website today, it says that the plan now includes 300 minutes worth of International calls, is this a new thing on Red plans?

Also, since my contract is only due to expire in September the Vodafone stores will allow me to upgrade early, but will Dick Smiths allow me to do this in-store or can this only be done at official Vodafone stores? Obviously the reason I'm looking to go to Dick Smiths is due to the $250 credit voucher.

    • You can upgrade 3 billing cycles before the end of your term
If you buy from DSE remember that should you have any warranty issues or the like you will need to deal with DSE

From my understanding, DSE can process upgrades as soon as your are eligible.
Allow some time though, as DSE do NOT have access to the Vodafone systems and as such will process your upgrade/connection through the sales team (over the phone) and this apparently can take ages.

Fingers Crossed you can get your $250:)

      • Over the phone.I better get in early then because I can see that definitely taking awhile. Thanks for the heads up though.

  • Do you get the gift card on the spot

    • Yes

      • Thinking of using this with vodafone 1 month network guarantee

        • To get the $250 voucher for nothing? I'm sure the T&C cover that instance

        • @oziboi:

I called vodafone and they said it applies as long as its from an authorised reseller and DSE is one … Thanks you DSE for a free $250 voucher

        • The network guarantee applies… but if you cancel the contract within 30 days wouldn't you lose the perks …for example, the free network access and the gift voucher?

  • does anyone have a link to DSE $250 gift voucher offer ?
I can see 2-months free offer on Vodafone web site but nothing about $250 DSE gift voucher.
Or do I need to go and sign up at the Vodafone store ?

    • go to dick smith store and sign a vodafone contract. similar as telstra contract @ jbhifi

      • thanks, I found one now. It is not available online, looks like through DSE store only.

  • Says new customers only on the flyers in store.

  • This aint free

  • just spoke to a vodafone rep at dicksmith and he said it wont give me 2 free months if i am with a virtual provider using vodafone's network like redbull or lebara. it has to be someone not on vodafone's network even with any virtual providers.

    • Vodafone T&C do not say anything like that.

T&C: "For personal use only. Available for online only for customers who sign up or upgrade to Vodafone 24 month voice plan before 19/08/2014"

      • but it does say "for new customers who port their numbers in from another carrier"
Lebara, red Bull etc.. are not another carrier… they use voda.
        Optus, Telstra are the same.
Optus port in offers do not apply to amaysim customers for example.

The Vodafone software used at connection detects if the number is using Vodafone and the 2 months wont apply.

        • that's on Dick Smith web site, but on Vodafone web site it does not say that.

        • @Sidor:
The vodafone website states what i said above..

port in from another carrier and get 2 months free

  • apparantly the store rep said they have been given those instructions.. he said your more than welcome to come and sign-up because there is nothing different that he will do to stop the discount if it had to apply.

the discounts come in the 2nd and 3rd bill and the risk is up to me.

    • Discount starts straight away.
Effectively your pro-rata period is charged on bill 3 as the 2 months is applied from day you sign up.

  • Does Dick own ozbargain now

    • -1

I asked my dick and it said no

      • I got my 250$.. :)

        Thanks Dick!

  • Just signed up today, Got the $250 voucher after porting from Telstra to Voda.
Came with the 2 months free as well.
