lol i just thought about this deal (but from last time) a few days ago..

I'll say it once agaim, I know the ozbargain spirit, but please don't claim this unless u will actually use it.

    • +9

This is a freaking mega deal, but I know I won't use it. So I won't register. If you register and don't use it then you're basically stopping someone else from using it who may actually use it. Don't waste the spots guys!

+1 for posting this again. Great deal to all those who are in the area and interested!

I saw on a bum on the street the other day with a sign

"Ninja aliens stole my wife and kids, need money for Kung Fu lessons"

I'll pass on the deal to that dude for you.

  • I signed up for the 1 year free classes. So do I need to attend a class to get the 1 year free or how does it work after you sign up ?

    • The one year pass expires from the date you attend your first Saturday class. You will need to come to a Saturday class this month to tick off your name.

  • Are there any other classes apart from the Saturday one?

    • +1

Sorry coodude123, unfortunately Saturday class is the only class on offer.

      • So Rep is the classes for only saturdays for the year?

        • +1

We only run one class per week, every Saturday. We hope to run more classes in the future. Cheers!

        • @kungfufoundation: Thanks for the great deal. Ive signed up & hopefully if work permits i shall try & come to most saturday training.

Is it compulsory to come to first training by this month? Or can we come the next month? I'm asking due to work commitments.

        • +1

Not compulsory but we encourage you to come to a Saturday class this month to secure your spot, since many others will be on the waiting list. First in First serve basis. We have limited amount of space and instructors for a limited amount of people. Cheers!

  • Hi rep, just signed up and looking forward to it. Only problem is that I'll be overseas for the rest of July and won't be able to make it to a Saturday class until 2nd August. Any chance I can still take advantage of this great deal?

  • +4

It's depressing to see I am considered too old to participate, but I'll give it a + on behalf of Younger Me who might have been able to attend. Now get off my lawn!

    • +2

Your only as old as you say you are…ill be 21 forever :P

    • +1

How old is too old ? I've seen 40 & 50 yo in my karate classes when I was a kid :P

      • "Our classes are recommended and for students from the age of 15 to 35."

        • +1

It is recommended not to drink more than the standard drink limit yet that recommendation isnt adhered to, so who cares about a few injuries you could suffer from karate just because your not in the recommended age group

YOLO - You Only Live Once…all the young kids follow that & most do stupid things, we are older & wiser but why cant we follow that saying & do things that it is recommended that younger people do like sky diving, etc

        • +2

I'm fairly certain YOLO is just Carpe Diem for stupid people. - Jack Black ;-)

  • Is this a McDojo styled training center?

As in, will you progress in ranks/belts based on time rather than skill/training?

    • +3

Nope! We are a traditional school. We don't have belt level ranking.

  • +2

I know karate, kung fu, judo, tae kwon do, jujitsu, and 28 other dangerous words ;-)

    • with the 28 degrees mastercard.. priceless!

Grasshopper,,,,,,,,followed by something deep and profound Yada Yada Yada

  • Thanks for this opportunity, OP. Also, thanks to those who didn't click register so that ppl who want to go have a chance. I've always been keen to practice some form of martial arts but my parents never allowed me to. Now that I've finished high school, I've got the freedom to do so and for FREE!

on another note; will we be wearing shoes at all/most times? I'm self conscious about my sweaty feet.

    • Must wear shoes for all classes, Cheers!

  • Any girls claimed this offer? I'm very interested and live just around the corner!

    • +3

Me! Used to live in the area and still up there often! Catch ya there!

  • Are we supposed to receive a confirmation email after signing up?

    • +1

We will send an email reminder on how to get to training and training time 'next week', Cheers!

      • +1

Would not be surprised if the students rocked up on the Saturday and we're told to paint the fence and sand da floor daniel son.

  • Emailled in plenty of time but was knocked back because i didnt meet the selection criteria.
    Ie was over 35.
It clearly says recommended age not that you have to be under 35. ( im 36)

Sounds like a dodgy academy and if they are going to start off like that then im glad i dodnt waste time with them.
When a dojo doesnt follow his own rules then its cutting corners in other areas too.
    Beware.

"Thank you for taking the time to register for our 1 year free pass offer to our Kung Fu classes.

Unfortunately your registration did not meet one of the selection criteria for this one year free pass, that is “our classes are for students from the age of 15 to 35”. We regret to inform you that we will not be progressing with your registration on this occasion.

Once again, thank you for your interest.

    Kind Regards,

    Arthur
