Plus every time you look at your kogan TV, your subconscious will keep flickering that usual, smug image of him such as the one below. Not worth going kogan

Does anybody can actually confirm the quality of panels of the brands that aren't Sony, Samsung or even LG or Panasonic? I don't need the yet-to-be-mine TV to be smart or 3d, I just want a large, decent LED LCD panel, with proper colours, even brightness and acceptable viewing angles. Since there are many Kogans, Soniqs, Panvisions or Bexas on the Australian market, I am confused and don't know whom I should trust.
To get to the bottom of those facts you will have to do some good research. Look into TCL as they are number one seller in China, actually make their own panels, building better spect TV's as time goes on, good value with 2 to 3 year warranties. I have used one heavily for 2 years with joy. Go in a few stores to get advice, and let your own eyes judge at the end of the day, that's what matters most. I find the Good Guys and JB HiFi give good, low pressure service. Just my 2 cents worth.
