Price match at Officeworks for a further 5% discount?
      Actually, that's not a bad idea :P

      • then use one of the 5% paywave discount on top at officeworks :)

Guess the $10 deal wouldn't be coming back anytime soon

    • yep certainly looks that way but I'm gonna wait…

    • I still remembered I got the last 2x$30 pack @ Hardly Normal inside a Westfield. Paid with those 1/2 priced Westfield gift card = $60 google store credit for $10. G'old days…

I snapped up 2 10-packs from auspost for $200. Each one gives me my month's calls and data plus I use an android app to get $15 back, so telstra is paying me to use their SIMs

          Android app?

        • +4

          I did some research :-)

nicois is referring to an Android app on Google Play which stresses that it SIMULATES the transfer of your Telstra prepaid credit into your bank account at 50% value. (I won't link to it – you can find it easily enough from his previous posts.)

The catch is, he is the developer of the app (the Google+ name from his OzBargain profile matches the developer email address for the app). As such, he gets paid for all in-app purchases which he can buy with complete confidence using all the prepaid credit he wants.

Any bonus purchases from suckers hoping the simulation is real make for icing on the cake, if he also wants to rip people off, which one would have to think is partly his motive in merely mentioning this on OzBargain as he has done previously.

Perhaps "rip off" might be too strong, as the app is sort of a request for a donation of credit that people might let go to waste. In any case, it's no doubt an exploitation of the system.

  • Any way to pickup in store ?

  • I am yet to receive the ones I bought from the DSE sale. Hopefully Telstra is better with the delivery.

    • @nowindex

Last time i ordered it came overnight

      (ordered in the morning early)

and they give you tracking :)

    • Maybe check your tracking. I ordered on a Sunday night and was delivered Tuesday morning.

      • I checked the tracking right away and all it said was notified or something to that effect. I've gotten in touch with DSE and they're sending them again. I've got a new invoice, but no tracking info yet.

    • Yep almost all orders are processed same day and shipped next day. So in metro areas most orders are received next business day. Also, all shipping is FREE :)

  • Can you buy multiple and transfer the balance to one?

  • I saw these at a Caltex service station in Midway Point (near Hobart) on the weekend also for $15, not sure if at all Caltex Servos.

These deals prolong my AFL Live app subscription. Thanks

  • Offer available to customers purchasing a $30 SIM starter kit online at telstra.com or from our partners Coles, Woolworths and Dick Smith from 1 July to 8 July 2014 unless withdrawn earlier.

    • @ CCwwayne

Great but most of those make you stuff around with the forms :(

      Unless it changed lately :)

      • Just letting u know the expiry date is 8 July 2014

        • Cheers ccwwayne :)fixed

  • Data users - BE AWARE that the OLD prepaid broadband offer (which was crap) and the OLD prepaid iPad offer (which was good) have been rolled into one new offer (which is in between the two)

    Old broadband - $30 = 700MB
    Old iPad - $30 = 3GB

    New broadband - $30 = 2GB

    http://www.telstra.com.au/help/download/document/personal-cr…

If you have SIM cards on the old offers, then you'll be able to keep using them at the old rates - but, seriously, anybody on the old broadband offer, switch to the new one :)

    • Would the 'old' White packs that advertise 3gb on the packaging still offer the 3gb on activation ?

      • yep, but theyre not on sale atm. Also beware… they changed excess usage to $2 per MB now (up from 1c per MB i think) http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:_vj5Bsw…

        • What are you calling "excess usage" - it's prepaid!!

What they appear to have done is, like encore, a $30 recharge gets you 2gb of bonus data, but leaves the $30 of recharge credit intact. Not been able to confirm this personally yet - still using old SIMs :)

If you use up your bonus data, it will then use recharge credit at the rate of $2 per MB. Basically, an extra 15MB for your $30 - whoop-de-f-do :) Use the standard method - change your low credit alert to $(RECHARGE)-1

        • @sparky347: I can confirm that it's like encore.

I have a dual sim so intend to transfer it to a simplicity SIM and buy data packs off that later on so I get for a $30 starter pack ~2.7gb which is close to the old rate.

        • Oops spoke too soon. Credit Me2U not available. See http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2280483&p…

    • Nearly bought a pack yesterday to try the new types, but if iPad option only gives 2GB, I can't be bothered with them any more.

      • The new ones are only 2gb?

      • Hopefully the gouging backfires so that's a common reaction. ..users even of other networks don't like such advertising, we would interpret it as 'signalling.' ah well, still thanks for the heads up on it.

  • Woolworths do not have sale. only $30 for $30.

  • Can you order these from Telstra and have the $15 applied to an existing Telstra mobile account? That also has a prepaid device already linked to the account?
