I've got a few brackets from Selby. Never had an issue. And the one you're linking to seems to have a little more meat on the wall mount!!! Ebay one is just a couple of metal strips (top & bottom)!!! What about this one from selby for $23.99?

Edit: Just had a closer look at the eBay one… Don't like it at all. The actual wall mount part of the bracket comes in 4 pieces, top and bottom strip that mounts to wall and 2 fairly thin supporting mounts to join them together!!! Looks flimsy in design, I'd avoid it!!!

How is that a bargain? There is much cheaper ones all over ebay..

    Bracket with tilt, $18.50:

    Without tilt, $16.99:

2m HDMI cable if you need one, $2.50:

    • Not really a direct comparison. The one mentioned by the OP has the advantage of wider horizontal bracket reach so you can secure it to wall studs with standard circa. 600mm spacing between studs. Those two you mentioned wont span the gap, so not a directly comparable product in practice. Of course, if you have studs at 450ish spacing, then your suggestions are a cheaper option. I think external walls might have 450mm spacing, but most internal walls will be closer to 600mm stud spacing.

  • I just received my 2 X TUFF Mount delivered from COTD for $24.95.
    Great reviews on Amazon.

You got 2 of them for $24.95, including delivery???
Edit: Just read that it's a 2 pack… That's a bit different for something like this!!!

      • Yes, i received 2 complete separate kits.
        Awesome bargain…

      • Thanks, I might pull the trigger on this, have $15 of store credit from some previous offer. Basically, pay for postage :)

        • Just check the wall bracket spans the gap between your wall studs on the wall you wish to place the TV on. Securing the bracket to anything but wall studs is extremely risky.

  • I got the Bauhn slim line tv wall mount from Aldi for $15 on discount. Your mileage may vary as its probably a run out item. There were a few at the Aldi at the Pines in Doncaster East VIC if that's in your area.

    Its not tilting though.

I am not so sure but seek an assistance from online community about tilt and swing wall mount bracket.
Another product from same ebay supplier in $53.90 (free delivery). Refer to link below:

Looks promising to me. What do other think?

  • I recently bought a 40" from jb hifi and they had a wall mount for $130! i said no thanks, went home and used some old turnbuckle ends that fit the TV's thread perfect and some cleats.
Free tv mount, best thing is, cant see any mount or cables!

    • soon you won't be able to see your tv either as it will be face down on the ground…. smashed

      • absolute gold , cant believe you got negged

      • absolute gold , cant believe you got negged

    • cant see any mount or cables!

I undestand that you wouldn't see the mount, generally that's what happens with any hidden wall mounted tv… But how does this way of mounting it hide all the cables???

  • I just purchased one of these eBay jobs for $19.71 delivered. Will let you know how it goes. Thinking that as long as you secure top bar to studs well then it comes down to the vertical hangers design to hold the weight. Strength and metal thickness will be the key. Chose this one as I needed the 600mm width to hit two wall studs. Planning to hang 40" TV but will have a backup fixing mounted by some method just in case :)

    • but will have a backup fixing mounted by some method just in case

Can I please ask, if you're going to go to all the trouble of making something extra to mount it to as a backup, why not just buy something for about $10 more that's a little heavier duty in the first place?

      • This was my comment before I had received the item, as I was going off reports by some that the bracket was "flimsy" but see my other reply now since I just received it :)

    • Ok just received this item from the seller on Ebay. Shipped via Couriers Please (they are about 4 suburbs away). Opened it up and inspected the parts. Metal brackets seems to be solid and rigid. Its a 2-part system so you have to join the horizontal brackets with the joiner pieces provided. No big deal. I can see how this design would appear flimsier than a one-piece, and it probably is in that regard when handled off the wall. But remember, its about $40 less in price too. Item supplied with some pretty heavy duty hex-head wall screws (more like bolts in size really) for the studs. Vertical brackets seem more than suitable to carry the weight (up to 80kg supposedly) and there is a mechanism to hang the TV from the top horizontal bracket, and a screw to wedge it up under the bottom bracket so the TV cannot be lifted off or accidentally nudged off the brackets by kids (bigger ones anyway). Instructions included seem fine. If you can't put together Ikea furniture easily, you might struggle a little with the mechanical concepts of assembling the bracket, but was no issue at all for me. Now just to mount it and get the TV fixed to the wall. I'm only mounting a 40" Samsung… I might be a bit more cautious if it was a 60" or larger, but that shouldn't be an issue either really. The critical part of course is ensuring those horizontal brackets are secured directly into studs and nothing else. I wouldn't trust drywall anchors for that kind of weight. But get it fixed securely and properly into wood studs and I think there will be no problems. Will update again once I have the TV on the wall.

      • Yeah, the 10mm coach bolts that they normally supply should be more than adequate into a stud… definitely across the two! Likewise, so long as the 2 horizontal mounting strips are of reasonable strength you shouldn’t have an issue.
Only thing to now mention to you is to make sure you do the wing nuts holding the tilt position up nice and tight. They do tend to loosen off just a little over time!

        • Coach bolts.. thats the name yes. Couldn't remember :) Will try and remember about checking the wing nuts too. I'll see if I have a spring washer to fit those wing nuts (if long enough) or replace the wing nuts with a nyloc nut to help stop them coming loose. Good advice thanks.

      • UPDATE: Have the TV on the bracket on the wall. Its actually very secure and feels solid. I've got it secured into two wall studs and with the 40" TV there is no visible sign of the bracket, hidden away behind the TV well. Tilt function a bit fiddly once the TV is up on the wall but I only need to set it once really. But basically, no problem and it seems more than adequate for the 40" screen.
