    • How so?

Check the GOG forums, people announced it before then (You can mouse over the icon for Alan Wake), at the end of the day, as long as people get it, who really care. The more people know, the better.

      • The more people know, the better.

        No doubt.

Just having a laugh at the poor guy on reddit who predicted it last time ;)

Great game, I think I actually preferred it to the original. Some people criticised the timeloop plot because of the reused assets but I thought it was cool.

  • Kind of hope you are wrong as I already own it. Also, it would probably make more sense to drag it out for another couple of hours to get people to view the other paid games. Once the 4th freebie is gone then less incentive to visit the site.

    • most of the deals are expired anyway

    • Worked on me. Just bought two games while waiting for the next free one

    @Kamoi
double standard much? You upvoted the ebay deal when it was only speculation and not yet active, or even confirmed.

We knew the eBay deal was coming for sure. The terms and conditions were posted. Only thing missing was the code.

This game however, where is the evidence to show it's going to be free?

Edit: Thanks for the eBay reminder. They got another good deal coming up this Sunday :)

It is in the HTML code, just like the first three where….

      • But it wasn't active, that is why your double standards are pointed out. Hypocrite. They knew the Alan Wake American Nightmares was coming too.

Barely worth it IMO. If you play it and find it as bad as I did, please don't judge the first Alan Wake by it's standard. The first game is by far the best.

    • Worth what? Free?

      • Worth your time. Saying it's worth playing because it's free is like saying you'll eat stale bread because it was free. Maybe you truly cannot afford better, but in this case to play it you'd need a fairly capable gaming computer, so to not be able to afford a couple of bucks for better entertainment is hard to believe. Give it a go I guess, but I found it pretty unenjoyable to finish, even though I seriously enjoyed the first.

    it's on now :)

    • beat me to it haha

  • On now just got it. Thanks.

  • cheers.. still bummed i missed out on torchlight though :(

  • Me too. Only on for another 20 min. Get it quick

  • I have total 13 free games from them now but never download one :p

  • hmm how do we get the serials for the games we own so can use them on steam?

    • I don't think these are Steamworks games. It's DRM free. You'll be disappointed if you think you can activate any cd key on Steam.

  • The first Alan Wake game is indeed much better, but this is the best free game GOG offered as part of this promotion aside from Torchlight (but Torchlight requires you to be unemployed for maximum enjoyment, where as Alan Wake's American Nightmare is just a few hours of semi-survival-horror FPS action).

    I got swindled.

Came for the free Alan Wake and left about $25 poorer as I had to purchase the bargain Bullfrog Classics Pack, Outlast (finally), Wargame and Deus Ex gold edition (which I think I already own but for $2.50 for a DRM free version is great).

I didn't know GoG had lifted their game so much recently. There are some great bargains there.

    EDIT:
Make that $30 poorer. Had to get MoO3 and the first Ghost Recon too.

  • Wow 52 seconds remaining and I got it! Ty OP.

    WTF?
