I did this about ten years ago and it was awful. Some documents had to be hand written, everything in a particular order, assumptions that you know how certain bits work, etc. Maybe it's easier these days? Back then it certainly wasn't worth saving $200.
Only $300 in Vic? In WA, it's about $1k.
As I said, I'm a bit out of date. Straigt forward with no extra work though, I don't think it would be 1k even now.
I should say, the one i did myself was a new build on new land, so it was more complicated for some reason.
