excellent price for an already cheap grinder.

Temping… I do need a 2nd grinder for work for Aeropress or drip.
Is the big brother (the BCG820) worth it at $200?
I've seen some Sunbeam grinders EM480 go for cheap here.
It would go well with my EM700 from Hardly Normals featured here a week or so ago.
I paid $240 for it at Myer a few weeks back and thought I got a good deal. I am using it with the EM7000 and its great.
Don't bother with the BCG450 - from my reading you need to mod them and then their consistency is not great. I guess it be alright with an entry level machine but an EM7000 deserves the BCG820.
Also - Myer will likely still have the BCG800 in stock, make sure you get a BCG820 as you don't need to get shims from Breville to make it grind fine enough.
I had the grinder in this deal and it would NOT grind fine enough for the EM7000 using a single floor filter. I attempted to do to the modifications shown online for it but only managed to pretty much destroy any resale possibilities.
I've just got the BCG820 from Myer today and took only a few minutes to set it up to get a good result. Very happy.
The EM440 and EM480 are also onsale at Myer, but they aren't as good imho. They are very messy to use, and catch a lot of grounds in the machine, meaning you have to clean them alot.
I haven't got a 820, but i intend to at this price having read the reviews…
I would check target stock before grabbing this, I got mine from there for $34 and I still see it at my local target reduced for about $40
You were lucky. Stores I tried don't have it, and their inventory system reports 1 left in some stores, but they don't find it.
… and now no longer listed on Target's website.
450 is a good machine
…so is the BCG820. Dammit Ozbargain! I couldn't resist :)
Got this thanks.
+1 for BCG820. Seams to be a perfect match for the EM7000.
Just ordered a BCG820 for click and collect so I can have it for the weekend…bargain!
Will go well with the EM7000 $399 oz bargain purchase.
Great price for a good grinder, but not suitable for more hardcore espresso machine like Rancilio Silvia even with the mod. Perfect though if you have a Breville Cafe Roma as we did for many years :)
