  • CREE XM-L T6 1600LM!

Is this the one you can see from the moon ?

    • I thought it was the one where you shine it in the night sky it would look like daytime.

  • XM-L T6 max lumen output is around 1000, don't believe everything they tell you
    http://flashlightwiki.com/Cree

    • Chinese lumens != SI Lumens.
Still, for something that sucks up two 18650's I'd expect this to be spectacularly bright! Anyone care to comment how bright?

bout tree fiddy times the banana's brightness

What about this one from banggood?

    http://m.banggood.com/UltraFire-CREE-XML-T6-1800-Lumens-LED-…

It comes with a charger and two 18650 batteries. US$15.99 though.

    • that looks like a 1 18650 battery model whereas this takes 2.

    • from the comments it looks like the one you link to can also take AAA's which is very handy

  • Any good deals on half decent 18650 cells?

  • How does this model compare to the one banggood had for $8.99 a while back? Of course pardoning it's alleged 2000 lumen claim.

I wouldn't be going for budget 18650 cells and chargers.

Unless you're a dedicated user, anything that doesn't take standard batteries ie AAA AA, its becomes a hassle.

I myself got caught up the torch frenzy, its excellent when you need it, but you rarely need it. When you do need it, the battery has drained and needs a recharge or only has half a charge left.

    • I absolutely agree. I prefer HobbyKing Low Self Discharge AA and AAAs. Really long lasting (life span of product & capacity) and hold about 80% of charge even sitting in an unused torch in your glove box for 12 months.

  • I wouldn't use the ultrafire 18650's, they will work but a higher drain name battery I found :
    a) is brighter
    b) lasts nearly twice as long
    c) is brighter for longer

Something like this is $10 US Shipped : http://www.fasttech.com/products/1141101 which is what I use to vape with lasts nearly all day (24 hours @7-10w) and I was given an UF 4000 battery and I get maybe 6 hours, granted I used it for a year.

for $5 extra its a no brainer, you can spend another $5 again ($15 usd) for the Panasonic 3400mah but you have to know what lengths since they can be long

If its a torch that is 8 years old, a better battery wont do much in terms of light, it will just last longer.

as for cheap charger, im on the wall, I use a cheap one that came with something, cuts off every time at 4.2v and is slow enough it doesn't produce a lot of heat when doing so, which suits 99.9% of 18650's

    • An alternative for "genuine 2400 mah" 18650. http://www.dx.com/p/20392 I have 3 set of this battery. Its a true 2400mah and not those fake 18650 that label (3000mah+) [referring to those ultrafire & unbranded ones]. 2x 18650 can last around 4 hours on maximum brightness on CREE T6 LED. I use it a lot for night fishing. The battery cost more than other sites, but you can trust the quality! Don't waste your money on those fake batteries (they weight much less too). Get from reliable source.

  • Twice I tried to import some batteries and they got lost at customs (possibly disposed of) and I never received it.

    • Some lithiums can cause problems in posting, they supposedly burn planes down in flight…. And mobile phones blow up petrol stations too…. And the tooth fairy gives you money for old teeth….

      • Well I'm more concerned that adding batteries to the order will mean the whole order gets disposed of including the torch.
